Real Housewives of New York returnee and Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel is back on the market, according to Page Six. Earlier this month Bethenny was seen around town with divorced dad Michael Toppel, but she recently ended the burgeoning relationship because, as source says, “she’s just not that into him.” Page Six source further reports that Toppel was frankly “just not her type.”
Not one to let a little breakup (or a multi-million dollar divorce settlement) keep her down, Bethenny shared in a Redbook magazine interview that she thinks dating in her 40s is “amazing.” She goes on to share her stance on how her career and parenthood influence her choice in men: “Many women say to me, ‘Do you think having a career makes it harder to meet men? Do you think being a mom makes it harder?’ And I say no, it’s actually amazing because it weeds people out. I’m a mom, and that’s the number-one most important thing. If I meet someone, I have a child, and if you don’t want to be with someone who has a child then excuse yourself.”

Bethenny further explains in Redbook how being a CEO can, at times, scare away men. But, claims Bethenny, those aren’t the men she’s looking for anyway. “I have a business and am a strong businessperson, so if you can’t handle that and that’s not something you’re interested in, you can excuse yourself,” says Bethenny, adding, “In your 20s, you can date a bartender, you can date an architect, you could date someone with seven kids, you can date someone who will never have kids — it doesn’t matter. But when you get older, you’re in the sweet spot and know exactly what you want so you don’t waste any time.”
Likely quoting from her NY Times bestseller, I Suck at Relationships so You Don’t Have to, Bethenny claims it’s essential to trust your gut in your 40s, knowing what you want is different now than when you were in your 20s. “It’s empowering to say to women who are in their 40s, ‘You are looking at this thing the wrong way. Look at it the right way,'” she concludes.
