Noella Bergener's Husband Still Hasn't Paid $5.8 Million In Owed Taxes

Noella Bergener might be new to Real Housewives of Orange County but it looks like she’s no stranger to drama. The freshman housewife first made headlines in August when she found out her husband, James Bergener, owed more than $5 million in taxes. And she didn’t even find out from him. She found out from the blogs! Days later, James filed for divorce, supposedly leaving Noella completely caught off guard again. Which seems to be all the rage when it comes to divorce on RHOC.

Now Radar Online is reporting on the details of James’ tax issues. According to court documents, James owes a staggering $5.8 million in taxes. Earlier this year, the IRS filed a federal tax lien against James for taxes due in 2018 and 2019. The amount was for $4,045,118.85 to be exact. In their own separate filing, the State of California hit James with a lien in the amount of $1,851,225.04. In the interest of being exact again, James’ grand total that he owes is $5,896,343.04. Eek! The liens have yet to be paid and Noella is not listed as a co-creditor.

Thank goodness because Noella has some debt of her own. The Creditors Adjustment Bureau is coming after Noella for $300K. Supposedly, Noella has been out of the country, but the debt collector doesn’t want to waste any time moving their lawsuit forward against her. Noella is being sued for breach of contract when she allegedly failed to pay $293,832.22 to the law firm Fried and Goldsman. The firm is responsible for representing her during a child support conflict with (ex) husband number one. Sources familiar with Noella’s side said the lawsuit is frivolous and claim that her ex was responsible for paying the debt, not her.

So it’s safe to say Noella has her hands full. It looks like her impending divorce will play out for the cameras on this season of RHOC. The two had only been married for a year and have a one year old son together. Noella is asking for spousal support. And it’s fair to say that this likely won’t be a smooth divorce either. Back when James filed, she updated her Instagram bio to read “Not so-Happy Housewife to Sweet James Sr. Mother to Little James, Coco & RiRi Based in OC.” She has since amended it to leave out the “not so-happy housewife” part.
