If you watched season 2 of Love Is Blind, you know that the major villain to emerge from the show was Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee. And he seems just fine with that. Shake spent his first few dates in the pods trying to slyly gain details of what his potential partners looked like. He did the same with Deepti Vempati, but the two ultimately formed a deeper emotional connection.
The couple ended up engaged and when they met, sparks seemed to fly. Shake told her he wanted to put babies in her and was very touchy-feely. Deepti seemed equally enamored but then things started to change. Shake pulled back and started to question his sexual attraction to her.
He even complained to fellow castmate Shayne Jansen that his relationship with Deepti was akin to the one with his aunt. Needless to say, Deepti caught wind of his put-down and left him at the altar. To which I’m pretty sure viewers everywhere cheered.
But Shake isn’t bothered by all the backlash. As reported by Page Six, he took to his Instagram with some thoughts. In a video posted to his Stories, he explained, “One thing I don’t feel inclined to do is pretend I’m sad or sorry about certain things — certain things that were out of my control, certain things that I can’t necessarily even speak about.” He added, “I’m just not going to do that. I’m not sorry.”

Shake continued, “I think I handled the situation as best as anybody in my situation could. And at the end of the day, I’m going to live my best life going forward. And you don’t have to like me. Only I have to like me, thankfully. And that’s real life.” That real life includes being a veterinarian, part-time DJ, and Nobu restaurant patron.
Once the final aired, fans skewered Shake online. Even Deepti’s brother and partner posted a smack down on Instagram. They addressed Shake directly and said in part, “You minimized my sister’s life by making some awful and cringeworthy comments about her.” They also called him a “loser” and accused him of chasing “clout.”

As for Deepti, looks like she’s not going to let a guy like Shake get her down. After dumping him, she said in her confessional, “A little time from now, he’s gonna look back and realize he lost the best thing of his life.” She added with a smile, “And when that day comes, I’ll be long gone. To me, that’s heartbreaking, but I have to see my worth and move on. He doesn’t deserve me.”
