Love Is Blind’s Deepti Vempati isn’t in the forgiving mood. After going back and forth with former fiancé Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee in the media, it sounds like she’s had enough. Shake was caught talking poorly about Deepti to his castmates. Leaving Deepti no choice but to ditch him at the altar and chose herself. Shake didn’t exactly take the news in stride. He took to social media, claiming he was “not sorry” for his behavior on the show. He previously posted on his Instagram, “One thing I don’t feel inclined to do is pretend I’m sad or sorry about certain things — certain things that were out of my control, certain things that I can’t necessarily even speak about.” He added, “I’m just not going to do that. I’m not sorry.”
Shake only made it worse after the reunion. He supposedly hit on host Vanessa Lachey, and slammed her husband Nick Lachey as a “massive twat.” Ultimately, Shake must have realized how horribly he was coming off. He did a 180 and issued an apology to Deepti, again on his Instagram. He said, “I wanted to take this opportunity to really just say sorry to a woman that I know I hurt. Deepti, I am truly sorry for some of the things I said. Things that, honestly, just could’ve been left unsaid or could have been said differently. Things that never should have been on national television.”
But Deepti is not falling for it. As reported by Us Weekly, she said that the apology is “too late.” Deepti began, “I feel like he’s just doing damage control, and clearly, what he’s continued to do on social media since that apology, it’s evident that he does not care. He did that for show. He did that to get less hate, but he’s not sorry.”
Deepti admitted that Shake text her after posting the video. But it was the same message he put on his social media post. And it was the first time Shake had ever expressed remorse. She explained, “It’s too late. I honestly don’t want anything to do with him, and his apology is fake. It feels insincere.” Deepti added that if Shake really felt sorry, he would have apologized after seeing his performance once the first few episodes aired. Said Deepti, “He’s only done it because he’s getting a lot of hate.”
After the shows finale, Deepti reflected, “There’s a lot of things that he said that he didn’t say to my face and [things] I’ve heard from other cast members. I just don’t have room for anybody in my life that doesn’t see me in the best way. And who could even think those types of thoughts, I guess. … I knew what I had to do.”
And while Deepti seemed to handle her emotions well on the show, she said that wasn’t exactly the case deep down. She revealed, “I have to say I was broken during the process. That’s why I am so grateful for my family and friends, because they constantly reminded me throughout the experience, ‘Don’t forget the work that you have done on yourself.’”
TELL US – DO YOU THINK SHAKE’S APOLGY IS INSINCERE? DID HE ONLY DO IT BECAUSE OF ALL THE HATE HE’S GETTING? WHY DO YOU THINK IT TOOK HIM SO LONG TO APOLOGIZE?
