Selling Sunset Maya Vander

Maya Vander Is Not Returning For Season 6 Of Selling Sunset

The fate of the Oppenheim Group and Selling Sunset cast is up in the air for Season 6 of the Netflix show. Superstar Christine Quinn left the brokerage after being accused of bribing clients for business. Despite such a heavy accusation, all signs point to Christine still appearing next season. I’m not sure what they would have as a storyline without her, so it seems almost certain. Maya Vander, on the other hand, will not be joining.

According to Page SixMaya has confirmed she will not be returning to Selling Sunset any time soon. “I decided to not execute my contract,” she shared. “I love the show, and it was great, but I’m excited to focus on the Miami real estate market.”

Maya has always kept her time on the show more business than drama. She announced in late February that she was starting the Maya Vander Group all the way in Miami, Florida. At the time, she said, “best of both worlds getting to travel to L.A. and work in Florida where it’s home for me and my family.”

Just two months before announcing her new company in Miami, Maya experienced the devastating late pregnancy loss of her son, Mason in December of 2021. More recently, she announced a miscarriage, just 6 months after the loss of Mason.

“I had a very crazy week. Miscarriage after 10 weeks …following my stillbirth..but my kids and my husband are absolutely my blessing and I am so lucky to be their mother,” Maya wrote about her grief.

“I have women (who might be going through the something similar) ask me how I’m doing after my stillbirth & pregnancy loss and how I’m able to continue pushing forward with my daily life.” Maya added, “Everyone handles loss in their own way, but for me I find the key is to stay busy – a healthy distraction always keeps me going.”

For now, Maya said she wants to decrease her time flying coast to coast for work and filming, and instead just focus on her family. “The show is great,” she added, “I love everyone, but looking forward to growing my business in South Florida.”
