RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 Cast Revealed: Meet the Queens

It’s that time! A new year means a new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and 2024 is about to follow the tradition. MTV just announced the cast of Drag Race Season 16, and RuPaul has 14 new drag artists coming into the workroom to compete for the crown and $200,000.

Season 15 gave us duck walks, epic lipsyncs, and Sasha Colby. It’s going to be hard for Season 16 to top it, but Ru has another seriously fierce lineup this year. Let’s meet these queens.

Meet the Queens

MTV dropped their Meet the Queens special to give a glimpse at all of the artists entering the competition in 2024. This season’s promo theme is “Join the Ruvolution” and all the queens delivered sickening, green looks that would make Michelle Visage’s head spin. However, they all look incredible and you can tell we have some big personalities the world will fall in love with.

A few standouts from the promo include Amanda Tori Meating, who takes the cake for the best drag name of the season. She also brings tons of experience as a wig stylist. Some of her previous clients include both Kerri and Sasha Colby. Maybe you’ve heard of them?

Hershii Liqcour-Jeté joins the competition this season and is the drag sister of Season 14’s Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté. Fingers crossed her ankles make it further than Kornbread’s did.

There’s also Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige, AKA the Queen of Flips, who hails from Miami. She’s gone viral a million times for her stunt-filled drag shows, literally doing back flips and splits on the sidewalks of South Beach. She has “lipsync assassin” written all over her.

This season will also introduce us to Xunami Muse from New York City. She describes herself as a “knock-off Naomi Campbell.” If you couldn’t tell by the last name, she’s Kandy Muse’s drag daughter. In the Meet the Queens, you can tell that she inherited her drag mother’s confidence. But will she be able to accomplish what her mom couldn’t and secure the crown?

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 premieres Friday, January 5th at 8/7c on MTV, and yes the 90-minute episodes are back. RuPaul’s Drag Race S16 will premiere exclusively on WOW Presents Plus in the UK from Saturday, January 6, followed by brand new episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked.
