Dr. Terry Dubrow Praises Oprah for Being Honest About Weight Loss Meds

Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow is ecstatic about Oprah Winfrey’s honesty. She’s been very open about using medication to assist her weight-loss journey, which Terry believes could save lives.

Calling the new medications “the biggest breakthrough in medical history,” Terry added, “It’s about time that we stop this ‘Ozempic-shaming.'”

Citing formerly chubby celebrities who are “suddenly thin” and blame it on “hormones … or working out really hard,” Terry urged honesty. “It’s about time that we all admit, [their sudden slim-down] is due to these miracle weight-loss drugs.” Terry sang Oprah’s praises on December 14 on TMZ Live.

Time to be candid about life-saving medication

Shockingly, “71% of this country is clinically obese,” according to the Real Housewives of Orange County spouse. “[Obesity] is the number one risk factor for the top four causes of death: cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and diabetes.” Being overweight was also an enormous factor in Covid deaths during the pandemic. In effect, those extra pounds can kill you.

Terry is beyond happy that finally, a big star is openly admitting that she needed medical help to lose weight and isn’t ashamed to be open about it. He’s hoping that Oprah’s example will lead to an increase in people talking to their doctors about the medical options available to them.

“Obesity is a disease,” Terry continued. “Would you ever shame someone for taking insulin for diabetes? For taking a blood pressure medication for hypertension?”

Citing all the good Oprah’s accomplished over the years promoting her viewers’ physical and mental well-being, Terry predicted, “This is going to be the most significant. She is going to save lives.”

As with any drug, there can be side effects and complications. Heather Dubrow’s other half encouraged people to have a discussion with their clinician about the benefits and possible dangers of using a weight-loss drug.

Concluding with the “immortal words of Lizzo,” Dr. Terry said, “It’s about damn time” that the Ozempic conversation is out in the open. Now excuse me while I go call my doctor.
