Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow is debunking the myths surrounding weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy.
Everyone seems to be trying to lose weight these days. At a certain age, diet and exercise just aren’t enough. But patients and doctors alike are concerned about possible side effects of all these new drugs.
Though Terry addressed many of the rumors and concerns surrounding these “miracle” drugs back in November 2025, he also brought up many benefits. And the information is still relevant today.
The RHOC star also predicts GLP-1’s will be the “ultimate anti-aging drug”
“So, like, everyone is on it,” host Lauryn Bosstick of The Bossticks podcast said.
“Yes,” Real Housewives of Orange County star (and Terry’s wife) Heather Dubrow responded. “I have a girlfriend who I’ve been friends with for a hundred years. She called me a couple of years ago, and she was like, ‘I’m so sick of reading about all these girls on Ozempic.'”
Heather told her, “‘Listen, you’ve been trying your entire life to get down 40 pounds. There is now help. Go do it.’ And she did it, and she looks phenomenal. What upsets me is this stigma that everyone has against it.”
“When I was in high school,” she continued, “I smoked cigarettes, I drank Diet Coke and took Dexatrim.” Same, only I wasn’t in high school back in the 90’s when I was doing it.
“Are you telling me that that’s better than doing Tirzepatide?” Heather asked. “It’s not. It was dangerous, and it was so bad for you.”
“This is not dangerous,” Terry interjected, although he discourages taking it if you have a family history that might make the drug unsafe for you. Other than that, the cosmetic surgeon debunked the alleged dangers to the gall bladder and other organs. “Not so much,” he said.
After proposing that Tylenol is far more dangerous than GLP-1s, Heather mentioned the positive benefits to cognitive and heart health.
Finally, Dr. Terry adds the alleged benefits to the brain and the heart. “It’s about to get indications for Alzheimer’s [and] addiction disorders … It’s really all about controlling the sugar and inflammation. [GLP-1]’s gonna be the ultimate anti-aging drug.”
