No, we’re not referring to The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s upcoming wedding. The Golden Couple will officially tie the knot in a Golden Wedding special on ABC on January 4, 2024. And since it’s been such a quick trip from the opening night limo to the altar, I thought we were talking about their “fake” upcoming nuptials. But no. Not that fake wedding, but another one.
While appearing on the December 26 episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” host Kelly Ripa pointed out that her co-host and husband Mark Consuelos is an ordained minister. So they took the opportunity to have a live wedding rehearsal on the spot.
“We understand that they want you guys to get married on TV,” Kelly told the happy couple. “And since we’re all gathered here today, we can just do the wedding right here.”

After handing the slightly confused couple a bouquet of white roses and a ring pillow (complete with Ring Pops), Mark jumped right in.
“I just have a few questions,” the Riverdale star began. “Theresa, do you plan to cherish and honor Gerry in sickness and in health?” When Theresa answered yes, Mark asked Gerry the same question. He also promised to cherish Theresa in sickness and in health. They also promised “plan[ned]” to love each other “now and forever,” but we are in Bachelor Nation, so … we’ll see. You know how “plans” go in the Bachelor Universe.
The lovely Vegas-style ceremony concluded with Kelly telling the happy couple, “You may now suck on your ring pops.” Come on, Kelly! You’re on a successful morning show on ABC. At least bring out some champagne!
Let’s hope the actual wedding on January 4 has a little more drama and excitement to it. They have to fill up two hours, after all.
