Why Monica Garcia Has Left the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

The conclusion of the Season 4 reunion of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City didn’t disappoint. Host Andy Cohen led us through the Bermuda trip, and we learned all about Monica Garcia’s involvement in the Reality Von Tease account. Well, sort of. But before the reunion aired, news broke that Monica was officially a one-and-done housewife.

Monica did admit to her involvement in the Reality Von Tease snark account. “I don’t feel like that page was made for talking sh*t on these ladies,” Monica explained. “I honestly feel like that page didn’t come for any of them.” And after Monica tried to spin it that she was trying to help the cast, her co-stars wouldn’t stand for it. “You are not a hero in this Monica,” Heather Gay snapped.

Monica managed to annoy the ladies when she presented her Burn Book. Then Lisa Barlow dragged Monica for driving by Jen Shah’s house. According to Monica, she was just helping the FBI. And the FBI allegedly asked her to try and catch Jen drinking and driving. Were these FBI agents named Scully and Mulder? When her outlandish story didn’t land, she changed it to say that the FBI didn’t actually request her services. They just said that if she had any evidence, she could provide it.

Worst of all, Monica was able to watch Jen in her home through her security footage. That is not cool, and probably illegal. Whether she did it or not, wasn’t made clear. But Monica’s refusal to own her bad behavior sealed her fate.

When Andy asked the RHOSLC cast if there was a path forward with Monica, the deal was done. Lisa and Heather stated that there was nothing that Monica could do. Whitney Rose was confused by Monica and didn’t trust her at all. And Meredith Marks put the final nail in Monica’s RHOSLC coffin. She said that “trust has been completely decimated.”

Andy asked Monica to speak, but for once, she declined. I think that Monica was a phenomenal housewife, and just what the franchise needed. I hoped that she could somehow be part of the next season. But her co-stars gave her no way to be part of the show. How can you be a housewife when no one will film with you? At least Monica can take credit for delivering one legendary season.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is now streaming on Peacock.
