Love Is Blind Season 6: AD Calls Clay a ‘Walking Red Flag’

Some people’s red flags are so obvious that you can sense them from a mile away—or, at least through the walls of the Love is Blind pods. That was the case for Amber Desiree “AD” Smith when she was talking to Clay Gravesande. In a new interview about her experience in the pods, she opened up about how Clay’s red flags became obvious very quickly. Whether or not she chose to pay attention to those red flags is a different story.

Red flag alert

AD spoke with Us Weekly and dished about how she detected Clay’s red flags almost instantly after chatting with him. He’s a smooth talker, which claimed to have inherited from his father. He also proudly announced that he has a huge ego.

“Oh my gosh, Clay is a walking red flag,” she told the outlet. “I mean, from the moment I met him, it was [like] ‘red flag, red flag.’”

In the pods, Clay had to compete for AD’s attention, which was something new to him. He said that normally, he doesn’t have trouble attracting women. It’s getting them to stick around that’s the hard part.

“You know, my dad is one of the smoothest and suave guys I know. I looked up to my dad,” Clay explained to AD in the pods. “I’ve always felt like as a man, I should probably emulate who you look up to the most, you know? My ego is very huge and it’s been a pro and it’s also been a con for me.”

Then, things took an even weirder turn when he started asking AD about her appearance. If the whole point of this show is to fall in love with someone based on their personality, why are you asking her about her physical attributes?

“When he wanted to know about the physical and what I looked like, I think that was very telling and a huge red flag,” AD shared.

Despite the abundance of red flags, AD still wound up matching with Clay. He proposed, and they seemed super happy when they laid eyes on each other. Now, we have to see if they actually make it down the aisle or if those pesky red flags get in their way.

Season 6 of Love is Blind is streaming on Netflix. New episodes drop on Wednesday.
