The experiment continues. Netflix just announced that Love Is Blind will return for Season 11, despite the overwhelming amount of evidence that the pods aren’t exactly the best place to find happily ever after.
Either way, the search for love continues. This time around, Netflix is taking the pods to the birthplace of the American Revolution. And yes, the Lacheys are back, too.
The Netflix dating show is headed to Boston
Netflix hosted its upfront presentation this week, dropping a whole bunch of details about new series and returning favorites. Part of their slate of announcements was that Love Is Blind would return for another round of pod drama and doomed engagements.
Season 11 of Love Is Blind will air this fall, featuring a cast of Bostonians looking for love. Just like in previous seasons, they’ll stuff a bunch of single folks into the pods and see which ones will walk away engaged. Nick Lachey and his wife, Vanessa Lachey, will return to their hosting duties, despite years of many fans begging for literally anyone else.
The renewal comes amid a noticeable decline in quality over the last few seasons. Season 10 took the pods to Ohio, where one cast member got his with sexual assault allegations before the show even aired. Of the seven couples that made it through the pods, only two made it to the altar.
Season 9, set in Denver, was dubbed the “worst season ever” by fans. Not a single couple made it to the altar. On top of the low success rate, the show has been plagued by lawsuits and complaints from former cast members who claimed they were mistreated on set.
Regardless, Netflix is spinning the wheel and trying it all over again. Here’s to hoping the Bostonians have better luck than some of the recent casts. But at this point, the bar is pretty low.
Love Is Blind is streaming on Netflix.
