In many ways, it feels like the Golden Era of Below Deck has come and gone. With Captain Lee Rosbach and Kate Chastain no longer working on the boats, something just feels missing from the show. Don’t get us wrong—Season 11 is entertaining. However, the show just needs time to find its new superyacht superstar.
Last year, Captain Lee made headlines when he complained about not getting a callback for Season 11. In Season 10, he had to take a medical leave and was temporarily replaced by Captain Sandy Yawn. As Season 11 floats on, rumors have started circulating about Captain Lee making a return to the show. Our interest was piqued by the idea of the Stud of the Sea returning to our screens. It stated, “Captain Lee Rosbach is expected to continue featuring in the series, which was created by Mark Cronin.”
How can Captain Lee “continue featuring” in a show that he isn’t currently on? The rest of the article read like an AI bot got the prompt, “new Below Deck season.” At best, it’s someone who has never watched the show. It failed to mention how Captain Lee exited the series and complained about not being asked back by Bravo.
Despite the shoddy reporting in the original article, a few other outlets took off with this unfounded claim that Captain Lee would return for Season 12. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s no indication there’s any truth to the rumors of Captain Lee’s return.
Bravo has not announced any news about the cast of Season 12 of Below Deck. Based on what we know about how Captain Lee left the show, it’s unlikely he’ll make a permanent comeback in Season 12. Captain Kerry Titheradge took over the helm in Season 11, and it will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future.
