Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s marriage has been under the microscope in Season 8 of Summer House. In the rare moments when the cameras aren’t focused on Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s drama, we’ve seen Mr. and Mrs. Cookie discussing whether they’re ready for a baby.
Despite working through some growing pains, they’re still a solid couple and want to expand their family one day. Just not right now. The head of Creative and Branding for Loverboy took to her Instagram Stories this week, where she made it clear that she is not expecting a baby anytime soon.
“I’m just exhausted and brain-dead,” Amanda claimed. “I just got back from a bachelorette trip, where we drank all day, every day in the hot Florida sun … So I am fried. And even if I was pregnant, I am pulling a Kylie Jenner and not telling any of you until that baby comes out of me. OK?”
Stop asking if she’s pregnant
Amanda also asked her followers for some privacy and to just let her and Kyle get on with their lives. “With all due respect, I love you guys so, so much,” she added. “Please stop asking me if I’m pregnant.”
For his part, Kyle has admitted that he and his wife want to figure some things out in their relationship before adding a baby to the mix. For one thing, they’ve both got some growing up to do.
“We love each other,” he said in Episode 4. “We know we want to start a family. But we’re really good at procrastinating and not dealing with our issues.”
Viewers of Winter House Season 3 will recall that Amanda had a pregnancy scare while they were in Steamboat Springs. The experience made them both stop and think about how a baby would change their lives.
“I ended up taking a pregnancy test, and I feel like ever since, we haven’t been in a really good place,” she confessed. “Taking that test really made us start to think about what’s next for us, and we’re not ready.”
During BravoCon 2023, Amanda told People that they were “practicing” but weren’t quite ready yet for a baby. “We’re so preoccupied with the dogs,” she explained. “[But] we’ll eventually be ready for kids.”
