Gizelle Bryant has been a main player on The Real Housewives of Potomac for all of 8 seasons now. That much presence on RHOP is bound to come with commentary, and Teddi Mellencamp had some thoughts on her reunion performance, along with Carlos King.
One thing to note about Gizelle is that she’s had the first seat at the reunion every season of the show. Up until Season 8, that is. To be a main cast member and have first chair so often seemingly created an expectation, and understandably so.
Indeed, Gizelle’s stardom is hard to deny (much to the chagrin of Candiace Dillard Bassett). So, what could Gizelle have been thinking when she wasn’t first chair this time around?
Was Season 8 Gizelle’s “best reunion” by far?
On a recent episode of Two Ts In A Pod, Teddi shared. “I do think that somebody else was having issues swallowing, and that was Gizelle when she realized that she didn’t have the first seat. Did you see her walk out and try to sit, and then was like, ‘Oh, who’s sitting here?’”
“How embarrassing was that?” Carlos asked, pointing out “When you have had first chair for seven consecutive seasons? Honey.” He continued, “And to find out as you’re walking out? Nothing is more embarrassing. But, I will say this, good for the producers, because it made Gizelle aware [that] no one is safe.”
Teddi added, “And also, know who I love together? Gizelle and Karen [Huger]. I loved them. It shows what kind of businesswomen they are. They’re like, ‘Listen, we will put our sh*t aside and support one another because we both want our jobs next year.” Carlos then asserted, “This is by far Gizelle’s best reunion, and it’s because she had second chair.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 reunion concludes Sunday, April 14, at 8/7c on Bravo.
