E! and Scout Productions have officially joined forces, entering into the world of design via OMG Fashun. In Episode 1, called “It’s Giving Mother (Nature),” we meet Elizabeth Shevelev, Julia Fox’s first winning Disruptor. Celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Megan Fox are wearing her designs. In addition, her creations have also graced the stages of New York Fashion Week.

Multiple outlets have also taken notice, stating that Elizabeth’s the one to watch. Behind the Pines Magazine listed Elizabeth as one of the designers “set to define 2024.” Likewise, Vogue Netherlands also gave Elizabeth a nod as a celebrity cult favorite.

Over on her Instagram account, Elizabeth’s humble responses to each of these nods are a joy to read. She appreciates these shout-outs, which is truly endearing.

Now, she’s showcasing her incredible talents on E!. After being judged by Julia and Law Roach, the former of which also filmed with Scout Productions on Queer Eye, Elizabeth took home the win. Further winning, Elizabeth’s just joined Reality Tea’s writer Amy DeVore, where she dished about all things OMG Fashun.

Amy DeVore: Congratulations. You’re the first winner on OMG Fashion.

Elizabeth Shevelev: Thank you so much. It’s such an honor.

Amy: You worked with some very big names. Let’s start first with Julia. What were your first impressions of this queen?

Elizabeth: She’s exactly what you think she would be. She’s stunning and ethereal, but also so kind. Like, how she speaks to you is just so wonderful.

Amy: I love that. What about Law?

Elizabeth: I’m a huge Law fan. So I was so excited to meet him. He said some really lovely things to me.

Amy: And Phaedra Parks?

Elizabeth: Oh, I love Phaedra. She’s hysterical. Like Phaedra is my all-time favorite [on] Real Housewives. So meeting her was also insane.

Amy: Your episode’s title was “It’s Giving Mother (Nature)”. When you first heard this, what were your thoughts?

Elizabeth: I was just like, of course, because I’m the flower girl. A lot of my pieces are floral, so I was ready, and I was ready to challenge myself.

Why OMG Fashun’s needed

Amy: This show is so different than all of the other fashion series. What’s your main takeaway on how it deviates from the norm?

Elizabeth: I think the fashion climate is changing, and I think the future of fashion is so malleable right now. Julia is a really special person to be leading this trend because she is kind of a pioneer of young emerging designers, bringing them into the light, and also telling them you don’t need to make a couture $20,000 beaded gown. You can make something really special out of really limited materials. It’s teaching about upcycling and making it cool and fun. It’s definitely really important, and I see this show as carving a path for that.

Amy: Totally. Even your titles are different. Here, you’re not a designer. You’re a Disruptor. Did that change your mindset at all?

Elizabeth: No, because I’ve always been a Disruptor. I don’t see myself as a traditional fashion designer at all. I see myself more like an artist. The word Disruptor really rang with my core, because I’ve always felt a bit like a rebel. And this is a very rebellious show.

Blood and bones

Amy: Let’s talk about what you were given to upcycle.

Elizabeth: I had really crazy things. I had a fox nest, and I had insects and bones, which I used for boning in the skirt. We all had to use dried mushrooms, and I made a dye. What else? Hair! I made jewelry out of the hair. I braided it and then spray-painted it gold. And then we had to use dried and fresh flowers. I made a bustier. Oh, and then at the end, we also used blood. It was fabulous. The whole theme, it’s ritualistic.

Law Roach didn’t hold back

Amy: Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?

Elizabeth: I think I would have like shown a little bit more personality on it. I was so nervous when we first started, but that’s honestly my only regret. Not just cracking jokes and just being more bubbly. I also kind of wish I wore something different now, I guess.

Amy: Why? Were you dressed conservatively?

Elizabeth: Oh no, I wore I wore my favorite jumpsuit that I wear when I work on set. Like, when I style or work in my studio. It has pockets, And you can take off the sleeves and turn it into pants.

Amy: I love a good pocket.

Elizabeth: Law hated my outfit.

And I Oop.

Amy: Do you have any big plans for your winnings?

Elizabeth: I would like to move to France. So hopefully soon, I can use the winnings to get a Visa, or honestly, just, I’m running a business. So I can also just use it for things like shows and stuff like that. I’m so grateful. It means so much.

Elizabeth’s final words

Amy: Before we sign off, is there anything else you want to say to the fans of OMG Fashun?

Elizabeth: You can overcome any obstacle, and you can look fabulous doing it. You can make anything fabulous. I also think you should stay full of hope, and you should stay humble. If you really want to do something, you should just do it. And if you want to be in fashion, even though it’s really hard, just go for it, and give it your all.
