Is Bachelor Nation crumbling before our eyes? Are fans of The Bachelor and Bachelorette exiting in droves? According to one insider, that’s exactly what’s happening. ABC’s most recent offenses come from the latest season of The Bachelorette, starring Jenn Tran.
Fans had many issues with Jenn’s season. For one thing, the men that ABC lined up for her felt like some of the worst contestants Bachelor Nation had ever seen. Jenn deserved better for that alone. But then to be dumped and ghosted by someone like, Devin Strader? And then for ABC to play the proposal again for Jenn to see after the breakup? Fans weren’t happy.
As one insider put it, “Producers seem to be making one bad decision after another — and the fans are sick of it.” They added, “The numbers continue to drop, and bosses are desperately trying to figure out how to climb out of this hole — before the whole thing goes kaput!” Read on to hear more from this anonymous insider.
Insider says The Bachelor is “dying on the vine”
This anonymous source spoke with Life & Style, saying that all of the Bachelor franchises could be in deep trouble. “The ratings just aren’t what they used to be — and that’s ultimately what matters,” the source said. “They keep grasping at stunts to try and reel people in, but it just doesn’t seem to be working,” the insider says.
As for the state of the fandom, the source explained, “Longtime fans are getting bored and disillusioned — and younger viewers just aren’t interested.” So, could the Bachelor be on its last leg? The insider said, “This really could be the final rose, and the powers that be know they’ve got to do something.”
They continued, “The Bachelor — and sister shows The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise — have been dying on the vine for a while, with budgets slashed and prime locations tossed.” Another issue for fans was “The empire’s handling of diversity issues,” even after firing Chris Harrison. Of course, this is all hearsay for now.
The Bachelor catalog is streaming on Hulu.
