Netflix has built up an impressive roster of reality TV dating series, including Temptation Island. The dating show, which previously aired on USA Network, moves to Netflix for the upcoming Season 9. Like the streaming service’s other popular shows, Temptation Island USA is a mix of social experiment and the ultimate relationship test.
The Temptation Island format remains intact as the show moves to Netflix. Couples at a crossroads in their relationships head to an island paradise. Greeting them there are 24 sexy singles with one goal – to tempt them away from their current partner. For fans of Love Island, think of it as a series version of the Casa Amor challenge.
Ahead of the Temptation Island return, there are extra eyes on the franchise due to the “Montaya, por favour!” meme from the Spanish edition. When is Temptation Island coming back?
Netflix’s Temptation Island is coming back for Season 9 on Wednesday, March 12th. The season will consist of ten episodes. Unlike Love Is Blind, it appears that all episodes of Temptation Island will premiere on the streaming service the same day.
Netflix released a trailer for Temptation Island Season 9 ahead of the March 12 premiere. We get a glimpse at the four main couples, who come to an island paradise for the ultimate relationship test. The men and women are separated into villas alongside 24 sexy singles who aim to tempt them. However, the significant others can see videos of some of their partners’ straying ways.
Temptation Island Season 9 includes a twist. This year, there’s also Temptation Haven, a tent with no cameras allowed. But it’s not totally discreet. When someone enters that tent, the other villa gets notified with a very bright glowing light.
The trailer teases plenty of sexy hookups, emotional meltdowns, and difficult questions. Temptation Island Season 9 looks like another wild ride in paradise. And, thankfully, fans don’t have to wait too long to see it.
Is Mark L. Walberg still hosting Temptation Island Season 9 on Netflix?
Past seasons of Temptation Island were hosted by actor and TV personality Mark L. Walberg. Not to be confused with The Departed star Mark Wahlberg. This Mark (L.) Walberg is also known for Antiques Roadshow, Russian Roulette, and The Moment of Truth.
While the platform changed, the host has remained the same. Mark L. Walberg is coming along to Netflix. He returns to host Season 9 of Temptation Island. He’ll serve as a guide to the shenanigans, temptations, twists, turns, and difficult decisions. As Mark advises contestants in the trailer, this experiment is supposed to give answers to their deepest relationship questions.
Mark L. Walberg has been the host of Temptation Island USA since its very first season in 2001. So, he knows his way around the show’s bonfire at this point.
Who are the Temptation Island Season 9 cast
Netflix revealed the Temptation Island Season 9 cast ahead of the March 12 premiere.
The Season 9 couples include 29-year-old Shanté and 26-year-old Brion, who have been dating for a year and discussed starting a family. But Brion stepped out early on and is interested in bringing other people into the bedroom. Shanté’s struggled with her confidence since, and also hopes the experiment can improve communication. Then there’s 28-year-old Ashley and Grant, who have trust issues after Grant cheated early in their relationship.
28-year-old Lino and Alexa have been together for three years, but he wants to see if there are more fish in the sea since this is his first relationship. Meanwhile, Alexa wants to reclaim her independence. Our final couple is 30-year-old Tayler and 27-year-old Tyler. They got together shortly after his marriage ended, and he wants the opportunity to date around a little. Because Tayler is older and dated more, Tyler is confident she won’t be tempted. But in the trailer, Tayler admits to “romantic vibes” with another guy.
Speaking of, Shanté, Ashley, Alexa, and Tayler will mingle with the Tempters. The 12 hunky guys are Logan, Danny, Dan, Quentin, Yamen, Case, Chris, Cody, Erik, Max, Hashim, and Giovanni.
Meanwhile, Brion, Grant, Lino, and Tyler will get to know the Temptresses. A sneak peek teases that Grant hits things off with 23-year-old Natalie. The other sultry ladies are Alex, Amiah, Courtney, Kay, Melissa, Mia, Nikki, Olivia Rae, Olivia S., Reba, and Reilly.
