Summer House’s Carl Radke Announces New Book

Carl Radke is a published author. The Summer House star is releasing a memoir about his journey to sobriety and how he’s maintained four years sober. The book is set to be released at the end of 2025.

Carl has found a passion for living sober. He’s opened a non-alcoholic hospitality establishment with sober clientele in mind. In January 2025, he updated followers on the construction progress at the location for Soft Bar + Cafe. Now, he’s found another outlet.

Carl Radke’s new book will be an honest memoir from the Summer House star

According to People, the memoir is titled Cake Eater. It shares the Summer House star’s recollections about descending into drug use and the tragic loss of his brother, Curtis. A press release described the read as a challenge of “a world that equates fun with alcohol.”

Carl is hoping that he can lead by example and prove that “fun and authenticity aren’t only compatible with sobriety; they can thrive because of it.”

It’s interesting to note that Carl has been starring on Summer House for several seasons sober now. As for Cake Eater, the book also sets out to complement what he feels is left out on the show.

Carl speaks about finding inner peace while dealing with the grief of losing his brother. A synopsis calls Cake Eater “a must-read for anyone seeking the courage to redefine their own path.”

“Whether processing grief, navigating sober relationships or confronting the public’s perceptions, Carl’s journey is one of resilience, growth and self-discovery,” it further stated. “Through vulnerability and humor, Carl redefines ‘fun,’ reminding readers that the most meaningful transformations come from within.”

In a recent interview, Carl told Nick Viall of The Viall Files that he succumbed to a “downward spiral” after Curtis passed away in September 2020. Fans can read about that journey in further detail in Cake Eater.
