Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp has about a “50/50” chance of beating cancer, according to her doctors.
In an April 10 interview, Teddi admitted grilling her medical team about the odds her treatment will be successful.
“It’s one of my favorite things to ask,” she told ABC’s Nightline. “‘How long I got?’ Or, ‘What are my chances?’ And they often times say, ’50/50.’”

The mom of three recalled her stunned reaction, telling doctors, “50/50?! I wouldn’t buy a car that’s only gonna drive 50 percent of the time.”
But Teddi’s undergoing a treatment that’s only been around since 2011: immunotherapy, which uses the own body’s immune system to attack cancer cells. Studies show that immunotherapy can significantly improve life expectancy for some cancer patients.
“That’s where I try to then find the positive,” she explained.
Because of the toll treatment is taking on her body, the accountability coach isn’t as active as she would normally be. “The hardest thing for me is I’ve always been a super active person,” she shared. “I cannot do the things I was used to doing,”
Going through Stage 4 metastasized melanoma has taught the Bravolebrity to “not take anything for granted.” She’s also learned to set goals for both herself and her family.
“I’m here, and that makes me feel good,” Teddi said. “These are special times that we get to do any of this.”
Diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma in 2022, Teddi has been very open about her cancer journey. Following 16 surgeries to remove cancerous lesions, her doctors gave her a clean bill of health in late 2024.
After suffering excruciating headaches in February 2025, Teddi went to the emergency room, where doctors discovered four “plum-sized tumors” in her brain. During the procedure to remove the brain tumors, they also discovered more tumors in her lungs.
Teddi recently celebrated the end of her radiation treatment.
