For years, the Browns were a close-knit family. In 2010, TLC viewers were introduced to the polygamous clan. The show was hit mainly due to the dynamic Kody Brown had with his four wives. But as the years went on, it was revealed there was trouble in the Sister Wives paradise. The family recently lost a member, Garrison Brown. On what would have been his birthday, some family members took to their social media to remember their beloved son/brother/friend the way he was before all the trouble started.
What happened to Garrison Brown?
For the last few seasons of Sister Wives, Garrison and his brother, Gabriel Brown, were in a heated feud with their father, Kody, over his handling of the worldwide pandemic. The patriarch wasn’t happy that his adult children had their own opinions about COVID-19, including blaming Robyn Brown for their isolation. Kody became enraged and even asked Janelle to kick their sons out of the family home. All three refused to apologize to one another, and Garrison went months without speaking with his father. The Brown family drama only seemed to get worse as the more recent seasons aired.
On March 5, 2024, Garrison was found dead in his Flagstaff, Arizona home. The Coconino County Medical Examiner ruled Garrison’s death a suicide, noting he had died from a gunshot wound to the head. Gabriel was the one who found Garrison in his bedroom. The report also noted ethanol intoxication — commonly known as alcohol poisoning — as a contributing factor. For his one-year anniversary, Janelle Brown wrote, “I encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, rescue, or humane society. This cause was close to Garrison’s heart — he adopted all three of his cats from shelters.”
Garrison Brown’s birthday was celebrated on Sister Wives
Janelle took to her Instagram on what would have been Garrison’s 27th birthday to share that it was a “weird day” for her and the family. Along with a slide show of photos, the Sister Wives stars wrote, “You seem so alive in the millions of photos I have. I sometimes forget I won’t see you again — and then I remember, Grief is so strange.” She added, “I’ve loved all the remembrances of you posted by family and friends. And I had to re-share the reel from the county fair because it shows who you were so well. Till we meet again sweetheart.”
Christine Brown, Janelle’s closest sister wife, also posted a tribute to Garrison. She wrote, “Happy Heavenly Birthday Garrison! Miss you! Thank you for all the wonderful memories we cherish so much!” Alongside the sweet message, she also shared some photos of Garrison over the years. As for Kody, he has only ever released a statement at the time of Garrison’s death. He has never spoken out publically since or posted anything on his social media platform.
Is Sister Wives over, or will it return?
Sister Wives fans are waiting for Season 19 to come back from its spring break. Even though the series has already aired 20 episodes, TLC felt that there was room for more. On April 20th, fans will begin to be able to watch the final chapter. Viewers are starting to believe that this might be the last season due to all the family turmoil. Coyote Pass is still a point of contention, with Meri Brown telling cameras, “There’s a few things that I will fight for, and this is one of them.” Meri is also shown realizing that Robyn might never have been her friend, sharing, “There’s so many people that are, like, ‘She was a liar … She was manipulating.’”
Kody is shown in the tell-all, refusing to answer some of the hard-hitting questions. He tells the host, “I am so sick and tired of being guilted for loving Robyn.” The host then asks, “Marrying these women and living a plural life, would you do it all again?” To this, Kody claps back, “Listen, Suki. I want to shut you down now.” Needless to say, it will be a heated discussion. Fans are hoping to get some of their questions answered, but knowing Kody, he will swerve and duck around until everyone sees him as the victim.
Sister Wives is available to stream on TLC.
