Keep Kirk Medas in your thoughts and prayers! The 33-year-old Floribama Shore star has spent the last two weeks fighting for his life in the ICU. His costars are rallying around him during this scary time, and we’re all rooting for his recovery.
Floribama Shore star Kirk Medas is suffering from a “severe” illness in ICU
Kirk’s Floribama Shore costar, Aimee Hall, alerted fans to Kirk’s condition via Instagram. In the emotional post, she shared an image of her pal in a hospital bed, hooked up to a ventilator.
“Our friend Kirk has been in the ICU for over two weeks now, battling a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis,” Aimee wrote. “He’s currently on a ventilator, and the situation is incredibly serious.”
Necrotizing pancreatitis causes part of your pancreas to die. The doctors have him sedated while his body tries to heal. It will be a long recovery ahead for Kirk, who starred in all four seasons of the MTV show.
Aimee said she had been connecting with Kirk and his loved ones via FaceTime while fellow castmate Nilsa Prowant flew to Miami to be by his side. In a separate Instagram post, Nilsa shared her experience.
“I did fly down there and see him, and it was one of the hardest things I’ve seen in my life because you know how close me and Kirk are,” Nilsa said in an emotional video.
“He’s been there for me for the past eight years of my life. He was there for me when I had [my son] Gray, my baby shower, my wedding. He walked my mom down the aisle. I love Kirk so much and his family so much,” she continued.
It’s a terrifying situation, and to make matters worse, Aimee explained that Kirk is uninsured. That means his family could get hit with an enormous medical bill once this is all said in done. With that in mind, his family has launched a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses.
“If you’re able to give, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And if you can’t, your prayers mean just as much,” Aimee wrote.
