Bravo dropped some major announcements this week with news of four new shows coming to the network, including The Real Housewives of Rhode Island. We know what the future has in store for us, but of course, Bravo fans are looking even further ahead, and rumors are swirling that The Real Housewives of Chicago is currently in the works. But, is there any truth to it? Let’s break down the rumors.
Is Real Housewives of Chicago coming to Bravo?
Real Housewives of Chicago has not been confirmed by Bravo, despite rumors swirling.
If you’ve been following the Housewives world for a while, then you know this isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors of a Chicago franchise. This literally happens all of the time. In 2019, a group of women claimed they were auditioning for The Real Housewives of Chicago, but that turned out to be a bunch of nothing.
Some fans thought that Tinsley Mortimer from the Real Housewives of New York could have helped launch a Chicago franchise after she moved from the Big Apple to the Windy City. However, Andy Cohen explained that the casting never worked out in Chicago.
Once again, Housewives fans are convinced that Real Housewives of Chicago (RHOCHI? RHOChi?) is in the works. It all started when a group of glamorous women was spotted at a Chicago Cubs game. They got custom jackets from the team and a suite to watch the game. That’s a very Housewivesy activity, but there’s no confirmation that this has anything to do with Bravo.
In the past, production companies have filmed pilots with groups of women with the hopes of pitching them to a network. That could be the case here, with these aspiring Housewives praying they’ll get picked up by Bravo. At this point, however, these ladies could end up on some random Netflix show we’ve never heard of. It’s too early to know for sure.
For now, the only confirmed new Housewives franchise is The Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Of course, that could change. In Bravo’s programming announcement, two long-running Housewives franchises were noticeably absent from the list of renewed series. Perhaps they’re keeping the slate clear for another brand-new city? Time will tell.
