As Reality Tea previously reported, The Real Housewives of New York was missing from Bravo’s slate of renewals. Now, fans want to know if RHONY is canceled altogether. Here’s what we know so far about the future of what was once one of the network’s most popular shows…
Is Real Housewives of New York (RHONY) canceled?
No, RHONY has not been officially canceled by Bravo. The show is currently in limbo, as the network decides how to move forward with the series.
As we reported on May 8, “nothing official has been decided yet” for RHONY, as well as RHONJ.
Page Six reported a day later that Bravo had “hopes” to revive the series in the future. But for right now, the series would be put on the shelf.
“We’re trying to figure that show out,” said their insider. “We want to figure it out. We think there’s still life in it.”
As Dorinda Medley knows, this is more of a “pause” than a cancelation. However, it does mean that the cast as we know it for the RHONY reboot will likely not all be getting calls to come back. It could even be the case that none of them return as a Real Housewives of New York star at all.
Of course, we’ve seen success with other Bravo shows like Real Housewives of Miami, which was paused for several years before its return. If the same thing happens here, then we may be in for a treat when RHONY does inevitably make a comeback; perhaps with both original faces and some of the newer ladies on board…
The Real Housewives of New York is available to stream on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
