The Valley’s Jax Taylor Discusses Bipolar Diagnosis

Season 2 of The Valley has been a wake-up call for Jax Taylor. He shoved a coffee table at his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, bruising her knee. This incident encouraged him to enter a rehab facility. However, while seeking treatment, he continued to rage-text Brittany. Welp, now Jax is revealing how he felt when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Jax Taylor “cried” when he got bipolar diagnosis

Besides dealing with his mental health issues, Jax also came clean about his cocaine addiction. Right now, Jax is sober after an over two-decade fight with his addiction.

During The Valley After Show, Jax shares his reaction. “I tell you what, I cried my eyes out when they told me what was wrong. ‘You know, you’re clearly bipolar. You should be on medication,'” Jax said. “And it was just like, ‘Thank you, God. Finally, I found something I can take that’s going to fix this f*cking problem, cause clearly it’s a problem.'”

However, Brittany shared some surprising information about Jax’s diagnosis. “Probably like a year or so before he went to this facility the first time, he did go to a doctor, and he came back saying that they told him he was bipolar then, too,” she stated. “Years ago, I did get checked, and they’re like, ‘Oh, something was wrong.’ But they never diagnosed me with bipolar,” Jax said.

Meanwhile, Brittany alleged that Jax did not take the medication that was initially prescribed for him. “That prescription sat in my junk drawer, and he never got it filled,” Brittany said.

Jax admitted that he did not fill the first Lexapro prescription. “Then I got the prescription filled the second time of Lexapro. I took it for two and a half weeks, and I’m like, ‘I don’t feel sh*t,’” he explained. “That’s when I went into the rehab a couple of weeks after that.”

Jax is now grateful for his medication. “I needed the medication. And I’m glad I’m on it,” Jax stated.

The Valley streams on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
