We’ve heard tell that the recently announced Real Housewives of Rhode Island could feel like a spiritual successor to the perpetually on-pause Real Housewives of New Jersey. The latest tease from Andy Cohen just added some more fuel to that fire.
During a recent interview, Andy said that the upcoming Housewives franchise felt “Italian with a Capital ‘I’.” That sounds a whole lot like Jersey, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

When Bravo announced RHORI a few weeks ago, the reaction was mixed. You can’t satisfy everyone, and some folks were hoping to see a flashier locale for the next Housewives city. There are some fans still holding out hope for a Chicago franchise.
With that in mind, E! News asked Andy to give fans some tea on what to expect from the new crop of Housewives. He said that announcing shows that people don’t see coming is what Bravo is into right now.
“I don’t totally know the reaction to Rhode Island, but I hope it was great, because it’s going to be great,” Andy said. “I have to assume people were surprised.”
People were also surprised to learn that RHONJ’s Dolores Catania could be making an appearance on the Rhode Island Housewives. However, it makes a whole lot more sense after Andy teased more details about the cast.
He noted, “It’s really good, and they are Italian with a capital ‘I.’”
So, these fabulous Rhode Islanders are extra Italian, and they might know Dolores. Plus, the official synopsis for the new series set in the Ocean State teased “aspirational lives, thriving businesses, and tangled family dynamics.” This is all sounding very New Jersey.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island doesn’t have a release date, but you can stream The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
