Janet Caperna has been pretty misunderstood from the moment she made her debut on The Valley. People have accused Janet of everything from being a Vanderpump Rules superfan to a bad friend. Needless to say, she hasn’t experienced an easy transition into the spotlight.
Even though we’re only in the midst of Season 2 of The Valley, Janet already has a few controversies to explain. One dramatic moment was during Season 1 with Michelle Saniei.
These days, Michelle has much bigger fish to fry in the group, mostly dealing with her toxic divorce. However, fans haven’t forgotten the episode when Janet supposedly accused Michelle of being a “racist Republican,” per Zack Wickham and Kristen Doute. Now, Janet is sharing her side of the story.
Janet Caperna denies calling The Valley co-star Michelle Saniei a “racist Republican”
During a recent appearance on The Viall Files, Janet explained her previous beef with Michelle. She explained the scenario that led to the entire debacle.
“We ended up talking about a bunch of political stuff. She had one comment that rubbed me the wrong way,” Janet explained. She apparently relayed it to Jasmine Goode, who played the game of telephone with the information.
“By the time the telephone [game ended], it changed from ‘I’m worried she might support this bill that’s not great for the gay community’ to a ‘racist Republican,'” Janet continued. “I didn’t use any of those words.”
Ultimately, Janet wished she would have communicated what happened clearly and directly to Michelle once it was brought up. Janet and Michelle seem to be close friends these days, despite their recent history. But we know how quickly relationships can change on The Valley.
