Welcome to the recap for The Valley Season 2 Episode 7. Last episode, showed Nia having to protect her marriage at all costs. This week, Danny is in the hot seat as Jason decides to confront the voice-over actor about his drinking. However, Danny was really hoping to make amends with Jasmine after the Halloween butt-grab. And while all that is going down, a rumor starts to materialize about the Capernas that has everyone’s jaws hitting the floor. So here’s exactly what happened in The Valley Season 2, Episode 7: “Right Around the Rumor.”
Jasmine isn’t over Danny’s disrespectful drunken behavior

While taking a hit and driving to LAX for Zack, Jasmine opens up about the morning the gang all left Santa Barbara. She is still unhappy with Dark Side Danny and Nia’s behavior and hasn’t been able to process the ick. For Jasmine she admits that “little things” are bothering her. The Valley star is triggered and wants a resolution. I get it – a dude said something creepy to you. According to Jaz, even Danny’s apology at the White Party seemed forced and rehearsed. Jasmine was still livid at the idea that Danny was annoyed at her for bringing up his actions in the first place. She tells cameras, “I can bring this sh*t up until the day I die.”
Danny has a big hole to climb out of with Jasmine because it was more about disrespecting her as a friend. Thankfully, Zack arrives to join the car ride just in time. It turns out he has been having deep conversations with his boyfriend, Benji. And they are now official. Mazel! He can’t help himself as he makes a dig at Benji’s ex-husband, noting, “I’m cuter and younger.”
Michelle is hearing wedding bells

Nothing says “we’ve moved on from a fight” like bringing your children together for a playdate. Asher and Isabella are all about the fun while their moms get down to the nitty-gritty. Michelle is still reeling from the conversation she had with Aaron, as he noted that if her divorce doesn’t get more peaceful, he might have to leave her. Michelle goes to Nia about how Jesse is always preaching about his mental health, yet she is doing nothing to provoke him. Isabella seems to be the voice of reason as she tells her mother it’s okay that her marriage didn’t work out.
And it seems like Aaron has a little wingman on the paybooks, as Isabella even gave him her seal of approval. For Michelle, love is in the air as she tells cameras, “I want to get married again one day. I hope that one day it will be Aaron and I.”
Burgers, brunt honesty, and boys

Danny, Luke, and Jason meet up for some out-of-this-world burgers. Honestly, I was jealous of the meaty treat, but I had to keep my concentration on the chat. Amid the lettuce, special sauce, and fries is a hint of intervention. Jason is over Danny’s bad behavior and feels it is his duty to correct his friend’s actions. Between bites of burger, the lawyer made it clear that it looked like Danny was hiding something while taking swigs of tequila in the pantry. Naturally, Danny looked and was confused by the statement. Jason makes it clear that Janet was uncomfortable in that situation. That’s strike two, Dan.
It turns out boys just want to have fun. And a shot, and a White Claw leads to a nap, regardless. Things get heated when Jason pushes the issue about Danny possibly being drunk. But I’m loving how the two guys are arguing over semantics: chug vs. swig. Jason seems to be making a mountain out of a molehill, especially after footage showed him telling Danny that it was never an issue. However Jason doubles down telling the actor “I thought you’d take a little bit of a more ‘sh*t I messed up.’ But since that isn’t the case, then I feel there is something bigger going on.” Um, is this Jason or Janet we are talking to?
Jason isn’t always righteous

For as much as Jason lectured Danny, he might have some skeletons of his own hiding in that closet. During a chicken and waffles brunch, Luke made me fall in love with him even more as he caught Jesse up on the drama. He compiled a week’s worth of drama into a nice clean statement: “To put it simply, people are kind of unreasonably upset about Danny not being able to make dinner.” It’s like Willy Shakespeare was at the table. Luke explained that he was uncomfortable with how Jason kept trying to make Danny feel worse. And it was at this point that Kristen had a lot to say including “Jason sucks.”
I’ll admit she got a “Ha” out of me. Just one. The former model added, “Jason’s in no space to be judging anyone’s relationship. Keep your wedding ring on all the time, then you can start talking.” It becomes clear that the friend group has been talking about Jason’s extracurricular activities for over a year now. Kristen’s sources are Zack and Jasmine, so we need to take it with a grain of salt. Luke all but face palms as the rumor leaves Kristen’s lips. This is not going to end well.
Sharks are friends, not food

Brittany throws one hell of a themed shark party. And it seems Jason has arrived with his tail between his legs. Almost immediately, he apologized to Danny while Nia is heard sharing that she feels like Janet is targeting them as a couple. But all is not smoothed over when it comes to Kristen spilling the tea about Jason, who has learned he is on the chopping block. As he roams around the party trying to gain insight, he jokes that he has nothing to hide, noting he isn’t the “Zodiac Killer” or a “racist Republican.”
Once the group gets down to the nitty gritty, Jason notes he has only ever forgotten his ring at home. Clear lines have been drawn in the sand; if Jason and Janet are going to pursue the Bookos, then their security detail, also known as Kristen, will pursue the Capernas.
The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
