You might not recognize the name right off hand, but you’re definitely familiar with their work. That’s why they could afford to spend millions of dollars on Andy’s otherworldly pad.
Danny Strong bought Andy Cohen’s luxury NYC penthouse

According to a report from the New York Post, actor and screenwriter Danny Strong is under contract to purchase Andy’s home. He and his wife, Caitlin Mehner, recently welcomed a daughter, and they felt like Andy’s space was the perfect option for their growing family.
“Andy’s apartment is my dream home. We are so excited to be moving there,” Danny said in a statement.
The original listing price on the 3,500-square-foot apartment was $14 million. With the help of real estate reality star Ryan Serhant, they ended up slashing he price to around $12 million. However, it’s currently unknown what the final selling price was. Either way, this is a major sale for everyone involved.
If you’re not familiar with Danny, let’s run through his resumé really quickly. It’s quite impressive, and you’ll immediately understand why he could afford such a massive piece of property in Manhattan. Danny has acting credits ranging from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Mad Men, but his wealth comes from his extensive screenwriting career.
Danny partnered with Lee Daniels to co-create Empire, which ran on Fox for six seasons. The two also teamed up on the award-winning film, The Butler. On top of that, Danny co-wrote the Mockingjay movies from The Hunger Games franchise. His latest project is the upcoming Broadway revival of Chess. The musical follows a Cold War-era chess tournament and features music from two members of ABBA.
Perhaps one of the most interesting things about this real estate sale is that, in a way, Andy and Danny are trading buildings. Andy has been working on renovating a new unit in a building across town. According to a report from New York Magazine’s Curbed, Danny is currently selling his old apartment in that exact same building. They’re kind of doing a little switcheroo!
