Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s split took a bizarre turn on the latest episode of The Valley, as Brittany suggested Jax may have bugged their home while in rehab for substance abuse and mental health issues.
The episode showed Brittany covering up the security cameras in the house she, Jax, and their son, Cruz once shared. She planned to move back in while Jax stayed at a nearby condo. But her concern wasn’t just about privacy — it was about surveillance.
The Valley producers and Brittany Cartwright questioned Jax Taylor’s actions
During a phone call with Jax’s sister on last night’s episode, Brittany mentioned her wedding rings were missing. Before she could say more, a producer interrupted and showed her a text from Jax – who was still in rehab – that read: “Make sure you get that on film. I can hear everything. Childish behavior.”
Brittany was visibly shaken. “Do you think that he put a bug in here?” she asked the producer.
In a confessional, she added, “Unless he put some secret devices around this house, our interior cameras don’t have sound. But we are speaking about Jax Taylor here, I don’t put anything past him anymore.”
Jax then called his sister after she and Brittany hung up. He said he was headed to the hospital with high blood pressure. He added that he knew Brittany had covered up the cameras.
The moment added to a growing pattern of behavior that suggested Jax might be trying to manipulate (or “Jax”) everyone around him, even from a distance.
Earlier in the episode, Brittany had shared that she was spending time with someone new. She described him as a single dad with “a real job and real responsibilities,” and said he stood out from Jax because of small gestures that meant a lot.
“He’s just got completely different qualities than Jax … it’s little things like that that Jax didn’t do for me for years that make the biggest difference,” she said.
Things got worse when the episode ended with Brittany reading an email from Jax. He claimed that the house was in foreclosure and that he would no longer be making mortgage payments. This, despite him previously promising to use podcast earnings to help pay off the debt.
“When Jax does things like this, it’s so hard to know what’s real or if he’s just wanting attention,” Brittany said in a confessional.
The episode ended with Brittany still questioning how Jax knew so much about what was happening inside the house. Whether it was coincidence, intuition, or something more sinister remains unclear. At this time, Jax’s spying is on speculation.
The Valley airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the U.K. and Ireland.
