These Mormon mom influencers are my newest reality TV obsession. Unfortunately, now we must wait for Season 3, or possibly Season 2 Part 2, to get some much-needed answers.
Once again, MomTok creator Taylor Frankie Paul was in the middle of this drama-fest. She ended her relationship with her baby daddy, Dakota Mortensen. Then Taylor faced off with Demi Engemann, who wanted Taylor out of MomTok. However, Demi had some shocking secrets of her own come to light.
Add in some marital strife, some friendship fallouts, and a fight over control of MomTok, and you have an epic season. However, with the finale ending with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, the viewers need answers from these saints and sinners.

Demi and her husband, Bret Engemann, presented the image of the perfect marriage. However, according to Taylor, there was trouble in paradise. During Season 2, someone anonymously wrote in to Mayci Neeley’s Sinner Sunday confessions. And this woman claimed that she slept with Bret while Demi was away.
When the topic came up, Demi seemed surprised, but unbothered. “If it did happen, it would be like, ‘Okay, sorry, you chose that.’ The truth always comes around,” Demi remarked. “Period.”
Then the duo was caught on a hot mic when Bret repeatedly asked Demi if she believed that he didn’t cheat, making her feel like he was acting sus. Viewers want to know what is going on in this couple’s marriage. The duo has a blended family, and Bret is significantly older than his wife. It seems like Bret backs Demi’s every move, but is their marriage too perfect? Fans want to know the real deal about this relationship.
What is the status of Jen Affleck’s marriage to Zac Affleck?
When Season 2 began, Jen Affleck was separated from her husband, Zac Affleck. You may recall Zac’s rage texts from Season 1 when Jen went to, but never even stayed for, a Chippendales show. Jen’s co-stars backed her, calling out Zac for his controlling behavior.
“I was pretty firm about us being separated so I can figure out what I need and just what is best for our relationship. For me to fight for this marriage, I need to feel he is putting my needs before his,” Jen stated. She moved back to Utah from Arizona, and Zac showed up on her doorstep.
He was in therapy and put off attending medical school to work on their marriage. Their relationship was still rocky, and then Jen found out she was expecting their third child. Plus, she was feuding with Demi and Jessi Ngatikaura, who felt that she was a liar.
After Episode 6, Jen stopped filming to focus her energy on her pregnancy and her mental health. And this was absolutely the correct decision for her. I hope that during Season 3, Jen will make an appearance to update fans about the status of her marriage to Zac. If she needs to protect her mental health and can’t film the entire season, a quick pop-in to bring us up to speed would be fantastic.
What happened between Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette and Demi Engemann?
Demi, Jessi, Layla Taylor, and Mikayla Matthews went to Italy to spend time with Jen before she moved to Arizona. Of course, they stayed at Castello Rosato and were featured on Hulu’s Vanderpump Villa. Duh! However, Demi spent some quality time with server Marciano Brunette. Let’s be clear. Marciano was smitten with Demi from the jump.
After a game of Never Have I Ever with the staff, Marciano and Demi spent some time alone talking. While Demi made it clear that she was happy with her husband, Marciano hinted that something more had happened between them. Of course, Demi denied Marciano’s insinuations.
Later, Demi claimed that she was “sexually assaulted” and “groped” by an unnamed man. According to Demi, she told her co-stars and swore them to silence. Welp, Jessi spilled the beans, so Demi came forward with her side of the story.
Then Marciano popped up and provided alleged screenshots of his conversations with Demi. “What I am trying to say is that Demi has made some crazy allegations about me,” Marciano said via an Instagram video. “But if that were the case, why are you following and DMing me and giving me your phone number and having a continued relationship after that?” Viewers need some clarity about this relationship and what did or didn’t happen in Italy.

During the Season 2 finale, Layla met with Marciano to get the scoop about what happened in Italy. And she got more than all of us bargained for. Marciano claimed that he slept with Jessi and that they were allegedly having an affair. Jessi is married to Jordan Ngatikaura, and Marciano claimed that Jessi’s hubby didn’t know the full extent of their relationship. During Season 2, Jessi did mention a rumor that she had made out with Marciano at TomTom, but said it wasn’t true.
While Jessi can’t say much about Marciano’s allegations because Season 3 is filming, she did share a few thoughts. “What he said was not accurate. Honestly … he’s a piece of sh*t,” Jessi said. Noted.
However, there seems to be trouble in Jessi and Jordan’s marriage, and it may not just be because of Marciano’s romantic claims. “We’re trying our best – but things are a little tricky right now. I’m excited to hopefully someday share more about that,” Jessi stated. “But right now it’s just real life and it’s hard.” It sounds like the couple is experiencing some serious marital issues, especially since Jessi ditched her wedding ring. Hopefully, we will find out the truth about Marciano’s allegations.
Will Layla Taylor snag more screen time on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3?
Layla is divorced from Clayton Wessel, and they share two sons. During Season 2, Layla debuted some cosmetic enhancements, as well as a new boyfriend. She had been dating Cameron Jolley for about four months when Season 2 kicked off. Their romance was shown quite a bit on the show. He even accompanied her to her Friendsgiving celebration. Unfortunately, the couple broke up after filming wrapped.
While Layla had a bigger role this season, I felt like we needed to see more of her. Demi and Jessi threw her a “remove the taboo” sex toy party since Layla hadn’t ever had an orgasm. And Layla was enthusiastic, a little uncomfortable, and funny during the proceedings. She is also more vocal this season, even if she is slightly scared of Demi.
And during the finale, Layla was floored by Marciano’s bombshell about an alleged affair with Jessi. How will Layla handle this sensitive information? Only time will tell. I hope that we see even more of Layla’s life during Season 3.
Will Taylor Frankie Paul remain the leader of MomTok on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3?
Taylor and Demi feuded nearly all of Season 2. Taylor called out Demi for allegedly being greedy and shared that Demi tried to push Jessi off the show to get a higher paycheck. Yikes! Plus, Demi also reportedly told Taylor not to go to Jessi’s hair salon. Since Jessi and Demi were besties at the time, this didn’t impress Taylor.
Of course, someone has to be the queen bee of MomTok, and Demi was prepped to step into the role. However, she had to get Taylor thrown out first. She tried to convince her fellow influencers that Taylor was an embarrassment to MomTok and their personal brands. At the big MomTok meeting, Whitney Leavitt was voted back in, but no one would vote Taylor out. A frustrated Demi decided to quit the group.
So, with Demi out of the picture for now, will Taylor continue to lead MomTok? Or will someone else step up and take the reins? We, the faithful viewers, will have to wait until Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to get our questions answered.
