Could Joy Behar Join the Real Housewives of Rhode Island Cast?

A new group of Housewives is coming to Bravo and this time it’s a group of lovely ladies from Rhode Island. Ever since Bravo announced the new Real Housewives of Rhode Island the reactions have been mixed. Everyone is waiting on who will make the cast. Could Emmy award-winner Joy Behar be part of it?

Andy Cohen recently appeared on The View and one of the topics they discussed was the upcoming RHORI. While he talked about what viewers can expect from the show, Joy leaned over and cheekily said, “I used to live in Rhode Island.” Was that a subtle hint she may be interested in being on the show?

Joy Behar says she needs “more jobs” during Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast chat

Andy has teased the cast of the new franchise on more than one occasion referring to them as “Italian with a capital I.” He continued this on The View when he spoke about the show. And then later on, on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live he talked about Joy’s reaction to the show.

“I mean, I just love Joy and you sit next to Joy. You sit between Joy and Sunny,” he began. “Now the thing about it is Joy has got, they kept me for two segments. She’s got her own thing going in the interview,” he explained.

“Like you’re being interviewed, they were asking me about Housewives of Rhode Island and she kind of says under her breath, ‘You know, I lived in Rhode Island,’ while Sunny Hostin is saying something else and I’m like, ‘Oh you did?’” Andy shared.

He laughed and added, “I’m like, ‘Joy, we are doing a segment now,’ you know what I’m saying?”

Andy went on to explain that Joy mentioned she didn’t want potentially fight the women on RHORI and Andy said that she didn’t have to fight with them. She could come on like the “Grand Dame” and she was down.

Andy shared that Joy liked that idea and said, “Yeah I need more jobs.” And Andy told her she had the best job in television before focusing back on the show and not their side conversation. “It was so funny,” Andy finished.

Could that conversation be a precursor to getting Joy on the show? With so many casting rumors floating around it’s anyone’s guess!

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island has no set release date yet. But you can watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey, available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
