Welcome back to the series where cameras MUST be present, much to the chagrin of Chef Lawrence. You see, the arrival of Below Deck Season 12 Episode 2 further introduced us all to a whole new boatload of characters, some calm and others chaotic. But, as last week proved, some of these messy maritime workers might not last long on Bravo. To show you what we mean, here is everything that happened in Below Deck Season 12 Episode 2, “Bollywood Nights.”
What happened in Below Deck Season 12 Episode 2?
This week, Chef Lawrence decides what his future in this series will be. Thankfully, Fraser has a familiar face in mind to take over this role. Meanwhile, Caio and Solène are scattered in their positions, causing tensions to rise in every department. Now, Captain Kerry must make some serious decisions over who stays and who leaves this season.
Captain Kerry is over Chef Lawrence

In the galley, Lawrence remains stressed. After greeting their guests, Fraser heads to the galley to discuss breakfast and burdens with Lawrence, who admits to Fraser that he is drowning and eager to go home. Internally, Fraser panics.
Captain Kerry finds Fraser to discuss all things Lawrence, telling Fraser that he cannot have someone on board who is willing to quit so easily. Fraser understands. At their table, the guests joke that they would appreciate a smiling chef during their Bollywood dinner service later on. Fraser jokes back, likely dying on the inside, knowing their chef has zero smiles left to give.
Fraser heads to the wheelhouse with a thought. If Lawrence leaves, he thinks Chef Anthony Iracane should take his place for a redemption season. Captain Kerry is all in. As am I, since I CALLED THIS several beats ago.
Solène, Bárbara, and Rainbeau reach new understandings as the deck team fumbles

Bárbara believes a language barrier might be at play between her and Solène. Therefore, Bárbara will use simpler words moving forward. Solène, however, is stuck. There is a feces-stained toilet in one of the cabins. She calls in Rainbeau for an assist, who does the job for Solène.
In the crew mess, Rainbeau complains to Bárbara about how much work she has already done, unlike Solène. On this same note, Caio is eating breakfast, and Damo is on break in his cabin. However, a storm is rolling in while their guests and their children are in the water. Consider Captain Kerry mad because safety matters.
With the deck team assembled, the guests are called out of the sea for lunch until the storm passes. Lunch is thankfully a hit with the guests.
Chef Anthony Iracane accepts Captain Kerry’s offer as Lawrence finishes his last solo dinner service on Below Deck

Captain Kerry heads to the wheelhouse to call Chef Anthony. Anthony wants to return, eagerly accepting the offer Captain Kerry lends. Relieved, Captain Kerry heads to the galley to inform Lawrence, who agrees to stay on for the transition to help guide Anthony on day one in this galley.
The deck team jokes about their current boat crushes. Kyle digs Bárbara. Bárbara, however, prefers ladies. Consider Jess excited.
Jess grew up in a conservative home. Luckily for her, her parents embraced her when she came out. Unluckily for her, the exterior has trash thrown about, which she must clean. As she grumbles while working, Captain Kerry pops in with a word of encouragement, making Jess smile.
Rainbeau is also happy. Fraser wants her to decorate the table for a Bollywood-themed dinner, which she loves. The guests love her attention to detail and also the dinner that Lawrence provides.
Bárbara grows annoyed by Solène as Captain Kerry warns Caio and Jess about their next docking

Solène and Bárbara are in the cabins. Solène only preps one side of the bed, as the other side looks untouched. Sighing, Bárbara asks Solène to clean everything. Solène does as told but wants to know why.
Solène heads upstairs to sit with Jess, who is taking a smoke break. They get along swimmingly (for now).
Captain Kerry calls Caio and Jess to the wheelhouse. They have a bridge ahead they must clear, where many boats have crashed. They clear the bridge. But their communication needs improvement, Captain Kerry explains.
The guests depart, leaving only kind words and a hefty tip of $30,000. Fraser sits with Solène after, encouraging his stew to do as instructed. They high-five. All is also well here (for now).
Damo and Kyle bond as Anthony comes on board, where teased drama awaits

In their cabin, Kyle notices that Damo has a pierced schlong. In a joint talking head, Damo explains how this process went. Kyle laughs and cringes in equal parts.
The eager crew heads out for a night on the town. Even though Damo is straight and Fraser has a boyfriend, they share an innocent round of flirtations. In his interview, Fraser jokes that he cannot kiss Damo. If he does, he will fall madly in love with this man.
Back onboard, Kyle has his sights set on Solène, but he graciously backs down when Damo also shows interest. In the morning, Solène tells Bárbara that they kissed. Damo says otherwise, however, which flashbacks confirm. “It’s back on,” Kyle jokes, regarding his newly reignited intentions with Solène.
Anthony boards, revealing in his confessional that Fraser betrayed him last season. But this season, he hopes they can get along, he notes. Naturally, a flashforward scene enters, showing Anthony and Fraser at odds only 16 days later.
Below Deck continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. Below Deck can also be streamed on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
