Brynn Whitfield Quits RHONY After Two Seasons: ‘I’ve Made the Decision’

There’s no word on what’s going on with The Real Housewives of New York. But, whatever happens next, Brynn Whitfield just let the world know that she won’t be a part of it. In a dramatic Instagram statement, she announced that she’s walking away from reality TV after her two-season run on Bravo. Instead, she’s ready to dive headfirst into a new role at a dating app she co-founded.

Weeks after Bravo confirmed that no decisions had been made around RHONY’s future, Brynn took to her Instagram Story with “a little life update.” Anytime you see that phrase in white text and a black background, you know you’re about to be in for something. This post she shared on Monday, June 9, was certainly something.

“After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now.” Brynn wrote with a winky face.

Brynn reminded her followers that she launched a dating app called Hoppy, where she serves as the Chief Marketing Officer. Supposedly, she’s spending all of her time bouncing between their New York City and London offices. She simply doesn’t have the time for RHONY.

She wrote, “All I want to do now is pour every ounce of energy into building Hoppy into the #1 dating app in the world.”

That’s probably also bad news for all of her clients who allegedly pay her $630 an hour for marketing expertise. Either way, Brynn said the next chapter in her life feels like “a lifelong dream.” If she’s happy, we’re happy.

When reflecting on her tumultuous time on RHONY, she had nothing but positive things to say. That means we don’t expect to see her in the headlines a year from now, trashing the show.

“The Real Housewives of New York City will always be one of the most fun chaotic, and magical chapters of my life,” Brynn continued.

“It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise,” she added. “From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s show – we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.”

The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
