We’ve made it through another season of Sister Wives. And still Kody Brown has learned nothing. Part 3 of the Tell-All really allowed Kody’s first three wives to set the record straight. No one held back and everyone walked away with hurt feelings. So here’s what went down.
Christine Brown talks about sex life with Kody Brown
For some reason, Sister Wives fans were always dying to know how the couples’ sex lives worked. And while, for the most part, no one really talked about it for fear of making another spouse jealous, Christine Brown changed her tune. The mother of six pulled the curtain back, telling the host, “For a long time, it was just fun and it was just a blast. You know, we just had a lot of good times.” But in 2014, with the introduction of Robyn Brown, everything changed. Christine recalled, “When he married Robyn, that’s where I was like, ‘Oh, there definitely is something missing here.’ But at that point it was already so almost over anyway.”
Christine looked sad as she recalled her intimate times with Kody. The Sister Wives star revealed, “But it wasn’t a real true intimacy.” She added that Kody was never interested in taking care of her “emotionally, romantically, physically, or financially” during the time they were married. Christine bluntly stated, “Nothing. I was independent at that point.” Sex was “just an act. No real emotion behind it or anything. Well, ‘used’ is a word, but maybe he felt used too. Like maybe we would just use each other. It didn’t mean anything.”
Janelle Brown explains why Kody is a narcissist
I don’t know about you, but I love me some Janelle Brown. The mother of six has had a trying season, but she still manages to be honest about her feelings. The Sister Wives star didn’t hold back saying, “I do think that there was a cycle of love bombing. And then almost kind of like a wind down.” Janelle explained, “For a narcissist, there’s a cycle where you love bomb and then there’s sort of a waning, and then you almost kind of destroy or hurt them. Then to fix it, you come back in and you lovebomb. So there was kind of this cycle.” Lord, that was deep, Janelle.
The former realtor added, “I am not qualified to diagnose him, but he—I guess everybody will have to decide. I read pop culture. I have no idea. But it does seem like there’s quite a lot of similarities.” And according to the American Psychiatric Association, a “pervasive pattern of grandiosity (sense of superiority in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood.” In a June Sister Wives episode, Janelle noted, “I think he really did—especially during COVID—be like, ‘I’m just going to shrug this off. You guys don’t like each other. I’m tired. You’re going to shorten my life span if I keep doing this. As she put it, “He kind of threw this little temper tantrum.”
Meri Brown says her relationship was fake
Robyn was asked about wanting to mend a relationship with Meri Brown. The fourth and favorite wife said, “If there’s anything I can fix with her I want to fix it. I feel that’s she not reciprocating. I think its just a matter of the both of us really putting the same kind of effort in.” But fans and Meri were not buying what Robyn was trying to sell. Instead, Meri circled back to Kody’s legal wife’s odd reaction to her moving to Utah. The mother of one noted, “You’re having this pain about me leaving. That’s a you thing. That’s yours to carry, that’s not mine.” Meri added, “For years, I took the blame, saying I had to fix it. I don’t feel icy, I just don’t feel like the relationship is there, which is unfortunate.”
Meri then noted that the relationship that she once valued “wasn’t the same.” In fact, Meri feels that it played right into Robyn’s hands. During an episode earlier in the season, she shared, “We were very close. And then it started, there was a divide. I’m now questioning, ‘Why tell me that you want to have a relationship with me and then ghost me for months and months and months?’” It’s safe to say Meri is moving on.
