Honestly, what is wrong with Kelly Dodd? She was never a fan favorite on the Real Housewives of Orange County, but the woman has hit an all-time low. She often found herself in fight after fight with her former cast. And fans found her to be crass, rude, and sometimes downright gross. The Bravo alum was just recently called out for alleged homophobic remarks. Here’s what we know.
Kelly Dodd used a bigoted term on Instagram
Kelly was recently called out via Reddit for her uneducated remarks. In an Instagram Story, a photo of a Subaru had been posted with the question “Do all lesbians drive Subaru?” A follower commented, “Lesbians or Liberals.” Then, below, Kelly decided to also reply. She wrote, “If it’s not a Lesbo it’s a liberal.” The bigoted term shocked followers as it showed how fragile Kelly’s ego was. The conversation was juvenile, and the perfect political swamp to find the former RHOC star trudging in.
Further, this is not the first time Kelly has been called out for her homophobic or insensitive comments. She once told followers that Covid-19 was “God’s way of thinning the herd.” And she was also snapped wearing a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat at her bachelorette, which appeared to mock the Black Lives Matter movement. In July 2021, Kelly was called out for a reckless Cameo video. In the birthday shout-out clip, Kelly addressed the receiver, saying, “This is Jennifer, she/her,’ I don’t get this. You’re either a boy or a girl, okay.” In 2016, a TMZ video of Kelly sharing some racist thoughts. She told the outlet while intoxicated that “I don’t like Black guys. I don’t even know any Black guys.”
There should be a zero tolerance policy when it comes to Kelly. And while I don’t enjoy reporting on her moments, like these, should never be overlooked, and Kelly should always be held accountable.
