Dakota Johnson & Chris Martin Split ‘Wasn’t Exactly a Shock,’ ‘Source’ Claims

Dakota Johnson wants to start a new chapter in her life post breakup with Chris Martin. The on-and-off couple had been in a relationship for more than seven years before reportedly calling it quits a few weeks ago. Contrary to the belief, as per a source, the actor is “doing well” as the split “wasn’t exactly a shock” since the former couple has been dealing with some issues for quite some time. Now, with her newly found single status, Johnson wants to live her life to the fullest without any regrets.

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin ‘had the same issues for a while,’ ‘source’ claims

Post break-up with Chris Martin, many might have assumed that Dakota Johnson might be shattered. However, according to a source, the actor is reportedly doing well and is looking forward to a fresh start. “Dakota’s doing well. The split wasn’t exactly a shock,” the Johnson source told People, adding, the ex-couple “had the same issues for a while.”

Johnson and Martin’s link-up rumors first started circulating on the Internet in 2017. It was even reported that the couple had gotten engaged as well. However, the actor and the Coldplay frontman have always been private about their love life. They never confirmed nor denied their engagement rumors. Even during their almost eight years of relationship, the couple broke up several times before patching up again. However, earlier this month, a source confirmed that the duo’s separation is “final this time.” There is no going back now.

Following the breakup, the source says Johnson now “wants to live her life very intentionally — she doesn’t want to have any regrets.” After years of balancing her career and relationship with her ex Martin, the 35-year-old actor wants to now focus on what is important.

Talking about her plans, the insider further added that Johnson “loves all her creative projects and is excited about her career.” However, the star believes “there is more to life than work though,” which is why the actor “wants a meaningful life on all levels.”
