Kevin Jonas recently opened up about his struggles when he nearly went broke. In an episode of “The School of Greatness” with Lewis Howes, the host invited the Jonas brothers — Kevin, Joe, and Nick. They revealed career details and life lessons from 20 years of their lives.
The trio talked about their financial losses and the six-year breakup of their band. During the conversation, the oldest sibling highlighted a phase in his life when his “poor choices” led to a time when he was left with only ten percent of his overall net worth.
Kevin Jonas reveals he had lost nearly all his money due to bad decisions
Kevin Jonas, alongside his brothers Nick and Joe, unfolded “the biggest lesson” he learned from “money, success, and fame over the last 20 years” and touched upon the time when he nearly went broke. He told Lewis Howes in an episode of “The School of Greatness” that he had lost almost all his money due to some questionable financial decisions. He claimed that he had seen “financial success” at the time when he didn’t understand “what money really was.”
Kevin revealed that he went through a “bad business deal,” which led to him going almost broke. The Jonas Brothers star was left with only ten percent of his overall net worth. When Howes asked about the time frame, the musician stated that he faced the financial problems nine years ago.
He further stated that he invested in some properties, but the deal didn’t turn out as he had hoped. “Sadly, it just wasn’t the right partnership,” the 37-year-old said, adding that he could not reveal more details about the same.
Kevin mentioned that he learned a “lot of lessons” through this incident. “Thankfully for life in general, like we had a second shot and bite at the apple with the band coming back together,” he concluded. While the singer referred to the lesson as “fortuitous,” Howes called it “painful.”
The pop-rock band consisting of three brothers garnered many accolades in their teen years. From releasing hit albums to starring in a popular Disney movie, “Camp Rock,” the Jonas Brothers had it all. However, they broke up in 2013, and the members went on to achieve solo success. Fortunately, they reunited in 2019, and their fans couldn’t be happier.
