Big Brother 27 Star Zae Frederich Drops Offensive Word on Live Feed

If there’s anything one should learn from reality TV, it’s to be careful what you say. After all, everyone is going to see it. Recent reality TV stars who got into trouble for using offensive language have reinforced that lesson. The latest to do so is Big Brother contestant Isaiah ‘Zae’ Frederich

ICYMI, Big Brother Season 27 just premiered. Sixteen contestants have entered the new and beautifully designed mystery-themed home and the cameras are running 24/7. Knowing that, Zae should have been a little more careful.

Zae, a salesperson from Kentucky, used an ableist slur during the show’s live feed while playing chess with fellow contestant Keanu Soto.

“Oh sh*t, I’m a f*cking (r-word),” the 23-year-old said on Tuesday, July 15. The moment was shared in several videos across social media. He realized quickly that he should not have said that and backpedaled right away.

“Damn, I shouldn’t say that word,” he said.

“No, you shouldn’t,” Keanu agreed.

Zae added, “That was one of the ones I was working on not saying.” Which begs the question, how many words does Zae have on his “not say” list? And does he regularly use language that would necessitate him having a no fly list?

Keanu told Zae that it was lucky it was so late in the day and that there was only one camera watching them. Unfortunately (for Zae), fans watched the livestream and didn’t like Zae’s comment.

Zae isn’t the first reality TV contestant to use a derogatory word and not even the first in the Big Brother franchise. Previously, Luke Valentine was axed from the show after using the N-word in 2023. And more recently Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were removed from Love Island USA for their racist remarks.

Time will tell if and how Big Brother will respond to this.

Big Brother is available to stream on Paramount+.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK THE SHOW SHOULD PUNISH ZAE FOR HIS LANGUAGE? IF SO, HOW?
