Denise Richards’ Black Eye: Aaron Phypers’ Friend Makes Bold Claim About How She Got It

Earlier this week, Denise Richards was granted a restraining order against her estranged husband Aaron Phypers. She alleges that he beat and choked her on multiple occasions, offering a shocking photo as evidence.

Now an anonymous friend of Aaron’s has stepped up to defend him. He’s claiming that Denise’s black eye was the result of a drunken fall. He also says Aaron never touched his wife, and the allegations of abuse are untrue.

The Denise Richards & Her Wild Things stars are currently in the throes of a contentious divorce. Aaron filed the paperwork on July 7, citing the standard “irreconcilable differences.”

But the insider is denying Denise’s claims of abuse. “This is consistent with the ongoing untruthfulness of Denise Richards … [She] is trying to hide her alcohol problem,” the source told DailyMail. “That photo was taken in winter 2022 … The fact is, she was drunk at the time and fell coming up the steps to Aaron’s clinic Q360.”

“She fell and caught the corner of her eye on the stairs,” the insider further added. “[She] then came up to the office where they treated her and put ice on it. There were lots of people in the office at the time, all of whom saw what happened. Aaron has never touched her and never would.”

In 2023, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum raised concern when she attended a dinner at Kyle Richards’ house seemingly inebriated . She later excused her behavior, saying, “I had a margarita before I went. I was sick and I learned a little cough medicine, you shouldn’t mix with it … and I had half of a drink there … That was it. And I started to not feel right when I was there.”

Meanwhile, Aaron released his own statement regarding Denise’s abuse claims. “Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise – or anyone. These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful.”

“Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue,” he continued. “I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience and respect. I ask for privacy as we navigate personal matters, and I hope that the public and media will refrain from spreading harmful and baseless claims.”
