It would take a lot to shock most of us these days. We’re watching shows where someone is married to their step grandfather. If a stranger approached us and declared themselves a recovering alcoholic lesbian who refuses to divorce her cis husband but has a girlfriend and would consider it a betrayal if her spouse dated another woman, we wouldn’t bat an eye.
And then there’s Brandi Glanville. Bless her heart. She briefly starred on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and managed to make a lot of enemies. After her departure, Brandi has been an occasional
mess guest on RHOBH. In her spare time, Brandi appears on social media. She likes to engage in arguments, she likes to give opinions no one asked for, and she ALLEGEDLY likes to do it under a haze of alcohol. Nothing really shocks our jaded souls about Brandi either. Not even now when she’s having a hysterical meltdown over breaking up with her… sofa.
The prettiest mess there ever was. Erika Jayne’s split from husband Tom Girardi is some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drama we’ve been asking for. Despite being the most watched franchise of 2020, fans are still begging for some intrigue from this cast. The gang-up on Lisa Vanderpump two seasons back followed by the communal Denise Richards drag has been exhausting. Erika to the rescue!
grifters Giardi’s have caught themselves in a pretty impressive bind. It started with Erika filing for divorce in November. Then we all learned about the renewed fraud allegations against Tommy. But it’s expensive to be Erika, and she has since demanded alimony from her elderly soon-to-be-ex-. Uh. Which part of this being burn victim and orphanage money does she not understand?
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills feels so far away, and yet like it happened just yesterday. This last season of RHOBH carried on the YEARS-long tradition of creating one storyline for the whole season, designed to humiliate ONE woman. Last year it was Lisa Vanderpump and puppy gate. The year before was Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave (which in hindsight, I don’t mind that one so much). The year before that was Erika Girardi and panty-gate. This year it was Denise Fu**ing Richards and an ALLEGED sexual encounter, with RHOBH’s self-proclaimed truth teller, Brandi Glanville.
Do you want to revisit any of those seasons? I don’t. Seasons that beat to death a single story are totally unenjoyable. Housewives works best, IMHO, when the show features a truly ensemble cast. Real Housewives of New York City, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City even seem to understand this implicitly. Plus, these series, along with New Jersey, Potomac, Dallas and yes, Orange County have women who are willing to show their lives. RHOBH doesn’t do either of these things and yet, it was the most-watched series in the franchise.
Even though Brandi Glanville got fired from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and did whatever she could to get back on the show (throwing Denise Richards under the bus and having her sons beg Andy Cohen for a job), she’s still not a Housewife. Actually, she wasn’t even a “Friend of the Housewives” last season.
Instead, production just took advantage of her, brought her in for drama, and didn’t give her that title or paycheck. Sure, they used each other, but still, that has to sting. How is Brandi not a Housewife anymore, yet so many women who give pretty much nothing to this franchise aren’t? Anyway, despite not being a Housewife for sometime now, she has a lot of opinions. Brandi is enjoying Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, except for two of them.
Before we start casting judgement on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne, I only ask you to remember one thing. You have no idea what she goes through at night! And whatever you do, avoid suggesting she has pretend amnesia and doesn’t recall her “company” ALLEGEDLY receiving funneled funds from accident victims.
Poor Erika, which might be a new literal term instead of a figurative term. After filing for divorce from Tom Girardi, Erika followed the path of many women and requested spousal support from her estranged husband. But Big Tommy is a Big Lawyer who is in Big Trouble, so he might not have any money to slide her way. Tom has responded to Erika’s plea for alimony and let’s just say, ‘ol Denise Richards is laughing in her morning cup of Casamigos.
Apparently, there are rumors going around that Brandi Glanville had a threesome with her BFF Kim Richards. This gossip started to circulate in response to Denise Richards telling the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast that Brandi also claimed she’s had sex with someone else in the group.
Brandi has denied this, but, apparently, Kim is still mad at her. It’s unclear if she’s upset for Brandi giving more life to the rumors by denying them instead of just letting them blow over. Or maybe Kim thinks Brandi had a hand in starting the rumors, which normally does seem like a stunt Brandi would pull, but on her actual best friend? That’s very unlikely. Why would she want to upset Kim and her family (I.e. Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton who are current cast members that probably won’t film with Brandi at this point)?
Bless her damn heart. Brandi Glanville still doesn’t have a diamond. After slapping Lisa Vanderpump and causing multiple controversies on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi found herself out of a job. The second she received a #pinkslipbybravo, Brandi started a campaign to try and get her gig back. Always finding herself in rather questionable situations, it seemed Brandi’s only shot was to create drama with people still actively employed on the show.
Most of the cast treated Brandi like a pariah, until they needed her for something. That “something” was a scandalous storyline with Denise Richards to pump up the drama on an otherwise lame season. In an attempt to throw the scent off the alleged affair with Brandi, Denise implied Brandi hooked up with yet another cast member. While we still don’t know if that is a fact, what we do know is it wasn’t Kim Richards. Thank God.
Because, of course she did. Erika Jayne is no fool. She’s an enigma, wrapped in a riddle and Cartier panther rings. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills diva made the
expected terribly sad announcement that her 20+ year arrangement marriage to Tom Girardi is dunzo. The term “relationship goals” took a nosedive when the news was released, if these two crazy kids couldn’t make it – how can mere mortals find their fairy tale romance?
The demise of such a union not only puts a damper on the “happily ever after” theory, it also raises some questions. Big Daddy is a famous and highly regarded attorney who has been suffering from
fraud numerous charges of creative accounting. At this point, even PK Kemsley is looking at Tom with a heavy side-eye. But still, 20 years is a lifetime in marriage years and Tom has provided a nice existence for Erika. It looks like Tom’s providing isn’t quite done yet. Erika has requested privacy during these trying times, now we find out she has also requested spousal support.
