As if simultaneously experiencing cancer treatment and a divorce isn’t enough, now Teddi Mellencamp can add an attempted burglary to the list.
Inside sources say two people attempted to enter Teddi and estranged husband Edwin Arroyave’s Encino home on the evening of July 21. Fortunately, the home’s security system immediately alerted the family of the danger, and the would-be intruders fled.
Despite their pending divorce, the couple still live in their home together while she goes through treatment. At the time of the attempted break-in, both Teddi and Edwin were at home and quickly called police. But by the time officers arrived, the suspects were long gone.

According to TMZ, the burglars visited the home of Teddi’s neighbor before attempting to break in at her house. Ironically, Edwin is founder and CEO of Skyline Security Management, and their security system is likely top of the line. It worked for them, unlike the one Edwin installed in Kyle Richards’ house.
Although the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum filed for divorce in 2024, the couple put a pin in it during her health crisis. Edwin was at Teddi’s side during her treatment, but in May 2025, they decided to move forward with the divorce. Teddi’s “illness is not enough to keep them together,” a source said.
The couple share three children: Slate, Cruz, and Dove. Teddi is also a stepmother to Edwin’s daughter from a previous relationship, Isabella.
Back in April, Teddi’s medical team gave her a “50/50” chance of beating her cancer. Stunned, she responded by joking, “50/50?! I wouldn’t buy a car that’s only gonna drive 50 percent of the time.”
