The first season of Next Gen NYC may be over, but the drama sure isn’t. Ava Dash’s father, Dame Dash, is making the headlines regarding a massive $800,000 debt he owes. We know from watching the show that Dame is an entrepreneur. Creating businesses and taking risks is nothing new to him, so a debt to someone else isn’t too surprising. However, what is surprising is his remark calling men who question another man’s finances “gay.”
Dame Dash thinks men who ask about his finances have to be gay
Ava, a supermodel, had her father, Dame, on the show for several episodes. He’s best known for founding Roc-A-Fella Records, as well as being an actor and film producer.
Dame gave great advice to Ava on how to handle being friends with drama queen Charlie Zakkour. He also had some funny scenes with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City hubby Seth Marks at his golf charity event.
Needless to say, Dame seemed to be at the top of his game. But news soon broke that owed $800,000. In an interview with The Art Of Dialogue, Dame explained the debt but also gave an odd comment about men who question another man’s finances.
He said, “At the end of the day, people celebrating my bills is an honor. To me, any man who talks about another man’s pockets, regardless, is gay. There’s no reason for a man to be worried about another man’s pockets unless he owes him money.”
Dame added, “A woman, I can understand because she’s wondering how she’s going to get taken care of. I’ve always said, another man worrying about another man’s bills and pockets, it’s like worrying about what’s behind that man’s zipper. So I’m not answering any man asking me about my bread, because I don’t consider it the most masculine thing.”
Next Gen NYC is streaming on Peacock and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
