The trend currently is being open about cosmetic surgery. This time, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna is opening up about the procedure that she had decades ago that helped create her iconic lips.
Lisa may have been inspired by Kylie Jenner sharing her precise boob job order and plastic surgeon. It seems it’s no longer taboo to reveal cosmetic procedures or admit that you’ve had work done. That’s actually good. After all, most fans can spot celebrities plastic surgery without needing to be told.
Why did Lisa Rinna get her lips done?
As for Lisa, she shared how her famous pout came to be on her podcast with her hubby Harry Hamlin, Let’s Not Talk About the Husband.
Lisa said the movie Beaches inspired her and a friend to do their lips. She said, “Barbara Hershey put collagen in her top lip, and we thought it was the coolest thing ever.”
At the time, Lisa was 24 years old. She had a friend who had a doctor that could do the collagen injections. “We thought, ‘well, that’s cool, but wouldn’t it be better if you could have something that lasted forever?’”
“So what did we do? We found somebody who would shoot freaking silicone in our lips that would last forever,” Lisa continued. “But it wasn’t a one and done procedure. We had to go four times and have tiny bits at a time. We held each other’s hands while we did it.”
Lisa credited being more forthright about cosmetic procedures to others speaking freely about their own procedures. She praised Kris Jenner for talking about her face lift and said it was “phenomenal” that she did.
Her lips aren’t the only procedure Lisa has had done too. She also opened up about her breast implants. She previously got saline implants but they were too big and heavy for her so she replaced them with the smallest size silicone implants.
Harry didn’t mind either way. “You said, I’m not a boob man and I don’t care, which was lovely,” Lisa told her husband.
