Former Love Is Blind Star Stacy Snyder Shows off Settlement Check After Lawsuit Against Producers

While Love Is Blind has brought fans a lot of entertaining moments, the series does have a dark side. In 2022, Season 2 contestant Jeremy Hartwell filmed a lawsuit against the show’s production agency, Kinetic Content, and Netflix. He cited a long list of allegations, including that the staff allegedly encouraged the cast to drink and completely cut them off from the outside world.

The lawsuit eventually turned into a class action, with multiple LIB alums joining the legal battle. Among the plaintiffs is Season 5 star Stacy Renae (formerly Stacy Snyder). After three long years, the suit has finally been settled, and Stacy was the first to reveal what she got from it.

Finally getting paid for the plot-line ?? There’s so much more I could say, but I’m sharing this in hopes that it helps fellow castmates feel seen and heard. I knew reality TV wasn’t going to be conventional—but no one signs up to be exploited, especially not for free. Thank you for supporting me during my season and beyond. Stacy recently took to social media to express her thoughts now that the suit is over. In her hands during the clip is the long-awaited check from the lawsuit.

“Finally getting paid for the plot line. There’s so much more I could say, but I’m sharing this in hopes that it helps fellow castmates feel seen and heard. I knew reality TV wasn’t going to be conventional — but no one signs up to be exploited, especially not for free,” she wrote in the caption of the TikTok video.

The former reality TV star opened up the check on camera. It showed that she received $8,287.67 from the settlement.

“This is more than I got paid filming an entire season of 12 to 20-hour workdays. I’m, like, shaking. I don’t know if I’m mad or happy. I’m happy, obviously, [but] it’s more of the justice piece and not the money.”

Netflix has since parted ways with Kinetic Connect for the show’s production. Here’s to hoping that means the upcoming Season 9 won’t be toxic.

Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix.
