Love is Blind UK just returned for Season 2 on Netflix. As a new group of singles enters the pods, fans are curious what happened to the couples from Season 1. In time for the new season, Netflix updated fans on where their favorite contestants are now. Viewers of LIB UK Season 1 know that quite a few couples called it quits at the altar. But even those who did get married didn’t all find happily ever after. Who broke up after filming wrapped, and which couples are still together?
Which couples are still together from Love is Blind Season 1?
The Season 1 contestants updated Netflix on where they are today via Tudum. Alas, most of the couples couldn’t sustain their connection from the pods into the real world. But some ended up finding love with other Love is Blind contestants.
Of the three couples who wed in the Love is Blind UK Season 1 finale, two are still together. Will Love is Blind UK Season 2 have a more successful record? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, here’s an update on the Season 1 couples that found love and are still going strong.
Bobby Johnson and Jasmine Chamberlain are still together and expecting
After they wed in the finale, Jasmine said that she and Bobby were trying for a baby. In June, Bobby and Jasmine announced they’re expecting their first child via a video on Instagram. Bobby wrote an original rap for the announcement. Memorably, he also proposed to Jasmine with a rap. In July, they revealed they are expecting a boy.
When their son arrives, Bobby and Jasmine will also have plenty of help from her mom Marissa. Jasmine told Tudum that Bobby and her mom are “besties now.”
In addition to their little one on the way, Bobby is also preparing new music. Jasmine supports his artistic endeavours. “He’s so talented,” she gushed to Tudum, “and if you do have that talent, you need to showcase it.”
Benaiah Grunewald Byrdie and Nicole Stevens are still together and planning another wedding
Fan favorites Benaiah and Nicole survived a love triangle before they said I do. Now, after a year of marriage, they are planning a second ceremony. Benaiah told Tudum that for the first televised ceremony, “None of my family could be there because my granddad was so ill.” He continued, “It’s important for me to celebrate our marriage and the journey we’ve been through and where we are now.”
Ahead of their second wedding ceremony, Benaiah and Nicole continue to travel the world together. In June, the GBs made a return trip to Corfu, Greece. These days, Benaiah co-hosts podcast Beyond the Pod with Season 1 co-star Freddie Powell. Nicole was their first guest. The happy couple also keep in touch with co-stars Bobby, Jasmine, and Ollie Sutherland.
Which couples from Love is Blind Season 1 broke up?
The Love is Blind UK Season 1 finale saw several couples break up at the altar. Where the exes stand now varies by couple.
To start, Ollie and Demi remain good friends. Ollie found love with Love is Blind contestant AD on Perfect Match. The two are engaged and expecting a baby. Demi is still single, and continuing to advocate for those with endometriosis.
Freddie Powell also appeared on Perfect Match Season 3. At this time, we don’t know if he’s still with his match on the show, Madison from Love is Blind. Freddie’s ex Catherine Richards is now dating Jake Singleton-Hill, their LIB UK co-star.
Finally, Tom Stroud and Maria Benkhermaz are both still single.
But one couple did get married in the finale, only to break up shortly afterwards. Where are they today?
Steven Smith and Sabrina Egerton broke up
Steven and Sabrina were the third couple to make it down the aisle on Love is Blind UK Season 1. But less than a year later, the marriage was over. Sabrina is seeking an annulment.
Fans were rooting for these two, so what went wrong? Steven and Sabrina broke down what happened at the Love is Blind UK reunion. The distance was the biggest factor. Sabrina said Steven only visited Belfast twice, whereas she was constantly flying back and forth to London.
Steven now feels they “weren’t compatible” and that long distance “magnified” their fundamental issues. Sabrina thinks their pod connection was “too good to be true.” She feels her ex wasn’t ready for marriage. Ultimately, she chose herself and decided to end it when she didn’t feel like he gave her the “same respect and consideration.” She told Netflix, “It was meant to be a partnership, but it was very much one-sided.”
Both are currently single. As Steven puts it, “It’s not like I could date with any intent and say, ‘Do you want to watch me get married on TV?’ I’m going to have to ride that wave for a little bit and see what happens.” Meanwhile, Sabrina is focusing on her career after establishing her own marketing agency.
