Exploitation, nonpayment, and unlawful conduct are just a few of the accusations Racquel Chevremont is leveraging against her ex-fiancée, artist Mickalene Thomas. The Real Housewives of New York alum is wrapped up in a major lawsuit with her former lover, and newly unearthed court documents reveal just how nasty it is.
Racquel’s ex is a world-renowned artist whose work can be seen in museums around the world. She once did a mixed-media portrait of Racquel that sold for $1.8 million. However, Racquel claims that Mickalene had sinister business practices behind closed doors, and she wants her to pay up.
Racquel Chevremont’s ex-fiancée Mickalene Thomas is accused of sexual harassment, theft, and more

In court documents reviewed by The Independent, Racquel demanded a minimum of $10 million from her ex-fiancée. The two dated for a decade in addition to working together. Following their 2020 split, Racquel accused the artist of sexually harassing her, creating a hostile work environment, and shorting her out of millions of dollars.
“From 2012 to 2022, Ms. Chevremont, who is also Ms. Thomas’ former fiancée, contributed immeasurably to Ms. Thomas’ artistic and commercial success, acting as a strategic advisor and liaison to galleries, collectors, and institutions,” the lawsuit reads.
“Despite these work-related contributions, Ms. Chevremont was paid improperly for more than a decade, both as an employee and under a written agreement effective January 1, 2021, as well as for compensation prior to 2021 and for multimillion-dollar deals she negotiated on Ms. Thomas’ behalf,” it continues.
Allegedly, Mickalene agreed to pay Racquel 20 percent of any sales she helped commission. According to Racquel, Mickalene “illegally diverted” funds and business opportunities from their joint business venture to her own separate LLC.
Plus, the RHONY star accused Mickalene of subjecting her to a “hostile and abusive work environment.” Specifically, Racquel said that Mickalene repeatedly pressured her to maintain their romantic relationship and fired her when she declined.
According to Racquel and her lawyers, Mickalene’s behavior and quid pro quo harassment violated New York Human Rights Laws. She wants the $10 million plus interest, attorneys’ fees, and court costs.
Mickalene has not publicly responded to the claims. However, she has until next month to respond to the allegations in court.
The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
