Now that The Valley stars Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor are divorcing, what will happen to their dream home?
Currently, Jax lives in a North Hollywood rental next door to Tom Schwartz. Will Britt sell up and move elsewhere, too?
On August 22, when a listener to her podcast asked her what she planned to do with the $2 million 5-bedroom modern farmhouse-style home, Brittany got a little defensive. She made her intentions clear about where she and her 4-year-old son Cruz would live.
Is Brittany Cartwright selling her home with Jax Taylor?
Britt made it crystal clear that she and Cruz are going nowhere. “I am staying,” she said on her When Reality Hits podcast. “This is my home.”
Though she is “still figuring out a lot of stuff,” she hopes it will eventually be settled when the divorce is finalized. “But I am staying here,” she added. “I do not want to move Cruz.”
As a mom, Brittany’s first priority is the well-being of her son. Since Cruz is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), his stability is paramount. Children on the spectrum have difficulty with change, so she doesn’t want to disrupt his world. The pool, his swing set and even his own “sensory room” are just some of the reasons she intends to stay.
Now that Jax has fully moved out, Britt has erased his presence from the home. It’s like he was never there.
“I know a lot of people would think [the house contains] too many memories,” she explained. “But it’s not like that at all.”
Though she and Cruz lived in rentals when Britt first left Jax, they moved back into their home in September 2024. At the Season 2 finale of The Valley After Show, Jax expressed his views on the subject.
“I personally don’t think she can take care of it on her own,” he said. “It’s a big house. [It’s] almost 4,000 square foot of home, five bedrooms, seven baths.”
“Brittany needs to know this house needs to go on the market right now,” Jax mansplained. “No woman needs a [house that big]. You are a woman with a child. Get something like a three-bedroom that’s manageable as a woman.”
But Britt is firm about not wanting to uproot her son. The house is “where [Cruz] was raised,” she said on her podcast in February. “It is not going for sale anytime soon.”
“This is another reason why I’m hustling, because I’m going to take care of my household, and I’m going to take care of my son,” she added. “This is my house. I’ve completely taken over everything and definitely [am] not going to sell this baby anytime soon. I love her.”
In the meantime, Brittany looks forward to filming The Valley Season 3 without Jax.
The Valley is currently streaming on Peacock in the US and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
