There have been plenty of strange royal rumors over the years. But Meghan Markle has been the subject of a particularly far-fetched theory. The Duchess has been accused of having a secret daughter. She recently spoke about about the claims.
Conspiracy theorists have suggested Meghan Markle is hiding a secret daughter
The rumor that Meghan Markle may be hiding a secret child began to spread online in late 2024. Controversial filmmaker Ulrike Grunewald spurred the conspiracy when he was making a documentary on the couple. However, while there was a lot of talk of the film exposing Meghan’s supposed secret, it didn’t actually make it into the final cut. Instead, “Harry, the Lost Prince” detailed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the Royal Family.
While the documentary didn’t have any major revelations, that didn’t stop internet detectives trying to solve the supposed mystery. Ultimately, some claimed that Meghan’s niece, Noelle Rasmussen, 31, could actually be her daughter. Noelle is the daughter of Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, who she reportedly no longer speaks to.
Clearly the rumors of a secret child got back to Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex made light of the accusations during an episode of With Love, Meghan. Speaking to Chrissy Teigen on the Netflix show, she accidentally mispronounced Hawthorn flower as “Honsworth.”
Chrissy then joked it was one of the Duchess’ children, to which Meghan replied: “My child… you’ve never heard of.”
Seeming to refer to the unfounded rumors, she added, “By the way, if I could have kept a secret like that, I mean, impressive.”
Meghan and Harry have two kids – Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. They have chosen to raise the children away from the spotlight, with Meghan recently revealing she was “not well” after being separated from them for a period.
