Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta ended weeks ago, but the fallout continues. Kelli Ferrell’s ex-husband, Chuvalo “Mark” Ferrell, just announced his plans to sue Bravo, among a handful of other parties. He’s got a long list of complaints about how their divorce played out, and he believes that RHOA made things worse.
Though he wants no part in reality TV drama, Mark held a whole press conference outside of the Rockdale County Courthouse yesterday. Atlanta News First had cameras there, and Mark spoke as though he’s ready for action.
Kelli Ferrell’s ex-husband Chuvalo “Mark” Ferrell is calling “defamation” after RHOA Season 16
“Today I end my silence,” Mark began in his press conference. “For three years. I watched my
name dragged through the mud, my business stolen, my home taken, my children withheld, and my dignity attacked. The truth is simple. What happened to me was not justice. It was
abuse of power.”
To get the full picture of what’s happening here, it’s important to note that Kelli and Mark endured a contentious divorce. They settled it in September 2024 after over two years of fighting in court. Throughout that time, he got arrested for failing to pay child support. They also fought over ownership of their restaurant, Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles. Mark is mad about all of it.
At the press conference, things got particularly interesting around the five-minute mark, when he started talking about Bravo. At that point, he accused Kelli of overdramatizing their divorce and painting him as a villain just for the sake of a storyline.
“She wants to keep me down because without that storyline, she loses her platform,” Mark claimed.
“And Bravo, your hands are not clean,” Mark continued. “You gave airtime to lies that you knew could not be sustained, put my daughter on national TV without my permission, and built a storyline that destroyed my name for entertainment. This is defamation.”
Mark said that his forthcoming lawsuit wasn’t just “one man’s fight.” He said he’s raising “national questions about judicial accountability, abuse of power, racial bias in family courts, and the influence of entertainment media on legal proceedings.”
“I inform the world that I intend to sue every party that has played a role in this,” Mark warned.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
